Subsequently, Hoseok's body was wonderfully responding to the chemo combination that was being injected into it. It has been demonstrating what doctors call a partial response. Which means that the cancerous cells have shrunk by a percentage. His body was taking in the side effects and coping predominantly with them. Most patients would have damage in the bladder by now, causing blood in the urine, but he didn't.
To say that Dr. Wexler was surprised, would be an understatement. Everyone was stunned yet ecstatic. Hoseok was the first patient in history to fight back so stubbornly. Withal, Dr. Wexler reduced his chemo dose. That mostly ever happened when the tumor got worse. However, in this case, it's due to the impressive results.
And on that account, Jimin's sanity has stabled. He's been having fewer attacks and was visiting Hoseok regularly. He even paused the flower shop's renovation for the time being. He truly dedicated his remaining strength for Hoseok. He also began believing in the doctor's reassurances, and his mentality responded to that too.
Then as he sat on a white chair next to Hoseok's bed, a hurricane of memories hit the shore of his remembrance in strong tides. He recalled all the exquisite times with his friend; times when Hoseok mocked him, provoked him and even teased him in front of Mrs. Wilson while she just sat there and laughed at them.
"Remember Hobi when you would steal my food, and then act completely innocent when I complained to Mrs. Wilson about you. You would just stand in front of her with puppy eyes and jutted bottom lip like you're about to cry," Jimin spoke to the unconscious body lying before him, "Ahh... now that I'm recalling this, I understand why she used to baby us a lot; no one would have believed that we were eighteen-year-old teenagers."
Yet despite saying all that, Jimin didn't expect a response as he believed that his friend was in deep oblivion.
Even though that was what the case seemed to be, it was false. Hoseok at that moment was finally conscious and awake.
Jimin was utterly shocked when Hoseok groaned and grimaced in what seemed like aggravation. Hoseok slowly started opening his eyes and examined his surroundings. His gaze then landed on Jimin, and he smiled softly. He extended his arm, and actually reached Jimin.
"Did I miss that much, Chim?" he said, hoarsely.
Jimin couldn't help himself at that point and just threw arms around Hoseok's body, bawling.
"I missed you so much," Jimin mumbled, his voice barely audible as it was muffled against Hoseok's shoulder. Hoseok chuckled softly and wrapped his arms around Jimin, hugging him back.
