The door opened with mass force, slammed against the wall, and A tall man with blonde hair ran in with an exasperated expression.
"Come on, we gotta go!" He told me with a low voice. He held out a hand to me and I hesitated.
I didn't know if I could trust this man. He just boomed in here and told me to go.
It did look like a rescue mission though.
With no choice, he grabbed my wrist and pulled me off the bed. I quickly pulled my arm away from him.
"I'm trying to rescue you, come on!" He said.
"I don't even know who you are!" I exclaimed.
"Alfred Jones. We don't have much time!" Then, the halls started glowing red and a loud alarm started blaring in my ears. I could hear shouting throughout the halls and got panicking feeling in my stomach.
Deciding I should take my best chance, I took his hand and he smiled.
"Glad to have you." He said as he turned to make sure our hall was clear.
Then, he pulled me out of the room and we ran down the hall. The flashing red lights did not make it easy to see, so I was stumbling around a lot.
We were met with the decision of another hall or a staircase. He lead me up the staircase and through another hall. It was empty, but there were going to be people running up any minute.
We ran until we found an empty room. Alfred closed the door and immediately I heard yelling people running and yelling past in the hall.
He let go of my hand and examined the room.
"No time to explain, jump out the window." He instructed.
"WHAT? NO! ARE YO..." He cut me off my clamping his hand on my mouth.
"Do you want them to find us? Keep quiet. Look there's a mattress at the bottom, just trust me." I pried his hand from my face and shoved it back at him. Did he really just say that?
"Trust you? I just met you and your not the best at first impressions." He gave me a fake look of hurt.
"Ouch. I thought I was being a hero." His blue eyes drifted to the side.
"Yeah, hero." I snickered.
Then I heard banging on the door. There was no doubt in my mind that if I didn't jump out that window right now, we would get caught and this would all be game over.
"OPEN THE DOOR OR WE WILL BE FORCED TO KNOCK IT DOWN!" One of the men shouted.
I looked at the door, then to Alfred, then to the window.
"Fine. Help me." I commanded as I ran over to the window. He ran over with me and helped me climb out.
Well, he was right. On the ground was a mattress. It wasn't too big though, I could easily miss if I fell off course.
As I dangled from the windowsill, I could hear the door being broken down.
"ITS NOW OR NEVER!" Alfred yelled at me.
I let go of the edge and began my descent to the earth.
