Three days later, the doctors gave the word that I was okay to go.

I wanted to go to the dorms, get my stuff and leave as soon as possible. Of course I'd have to sneak past my friends and make sure they didn't see me, but I couldn't see them before I left. It would hurt too much.

I hailed a taxi and told the man driving to take me to the university. I did as I usually did and snuck around the back and through the kitchen once it was clear.

I made my way to me and Amia's dorm. It was 12 pm, so she was probably out doing something anyways. I used my key and got in.

The coast was clear. I didn't want to stick around for long though, so I packed whatever was out of my suitcase back in and zipped it up. I found some notebook paper and a pen to write a goodbye note.

Dear Cynthia, Brianna, and Amia,

I hope you all are doing well. I also hope you won't miss me. By the time your reading this, I'll probably be on my plane back home. Don't worry though, it's only to keep you guys safe. Ever since I came here, I only caused you all trouble and I don't want to be that burden anymore. It's for the best.

                                        ~Marki Delior

I sighed as I folded up the paper and left it on top of Amia's dresser. This was harder than I thought it would be. Who knew you could get so attached to a group of people in such little time.

I picked up my suitcase and walked out the door. I gave the room one last look before shuting and locking it.

I walked outside and hailed myself another taxi. I watched the uni until it went out of sight. Even though I was leaving, I would never forget the good memories I had here.

Amia's POV

Brianna, Cynthia, and I had just got the news that Marki was out! We ran to my dorm as that was where I suspected she would most likely be. We built up all our excitement just to be let down by an empty room.

"She might be somewhere else." Cynthia suggested.

"Your right, I'll call her." Brianna said.

She pulled out her phone and dialed Marki's number. We all waited with anticipation as it rang. We were all let down again when she never answered.

"Hey, look at this." Cynthia pointed at a price of paper on my dresser. "That wasn't there before, was it?"

"No. Lemme see it." I answered. Cynthia handed me the paper and I unfolded it. I noticed it was a note from Marki and read it out loud. When I finished I took a deep breath. She really felt that she was such a burden, she needed to leave!

"Well we gotta go after her. She couldn't have gotten far." Brianna said.

"You're very right. Let's go! There's no time to waste." I said. We all snuck off campus and got ourselves a taxi. We told the man to take us to the airport. I only hoped we made it in time.

  Marki's POV

I felt really bad for not answering my phone, but I couldn't talk to them yet.  Not until I was on the plane and there was no turning back. They might be able to convince me to stay.

I was standing in line at the airport, waiting to get my plane ticket. Once it was my turn, the lady greeted me.

"Flight 164 to Virginia, US, please."

"Of course. I should warn you, the weather is shakey, so they are delaying for a half an hour."

  "Oh, that's fine."

"Okay. Here's your ticket. Your free to wait over there."

"Thank you." I took a seat by the windows where she pointed. I took out a book and started reading. Just when I got deep into the Story, I heard shouting across the room.

"MARKIIIIIIII!" A group of people yelled as they ran towards me. I stood up to greet them, but was attacked in a hug by multiple people.

Then I recognized them. My friends.

"Marki, what are you doing?" Brianna asked when she pulled away.

"I... You know what I'm doing. What are you doing?" I replied.

"We're trying to stop you from making a mistake. You wanna stay here, right?" Amia asked.

"Yeah, but...no, I've caused too much trouble."

"Marki, everything is fine. Your not a burden, trust us."

Disregarding their comments telling me to stay I knew what I had to do. "Don't make this hard for me...please. My plane is about to leave. I gotta go. Hopefully we'll meet again." I gave a small smile.

At first, they all stared at me, not moving. When I turned to walk away, Cynthia grabbed my arm and pulled me back. I stared at her.

"If you go, we go too." She said. Those words. I've heard them before. Something about those words. I felt dizzy, like...

  Flashback:

I was young. No older than 10. I remember playing on the local playground. I had met this group of girls that day. They were  gathered in a circle, doing something by the monkey bars.

When I went over to investigate, it turned out that they were staring at a dead blue bird. I felt bad for the fella, so I had to do something.

I smiled as I raised my hand and commanded the bird to arise. I laughed a little as the spirit of the bird started flying around.

"How'd you do that?" The tall, dark skinned girl asked me.

"I made the spirit live again." I giggled again.

"Yeah right." A tan skinned girl said. I commanded the bird to sit on my index finger.

"It likes you." A girl with light brown skin stated.

"Yeah. I guess dead things like me."

"My name is Amia. Your weird, wanna be friends with us?" She asked.

"My name is Marki and sure! I don't really have any friends."

"I'm Cynthia, and you do now."

"Brianna, and we'll all be best friends."

  "Forever?" I asked.

"Forever." They all replied in sync.

I took deep breaths as I came to again.

"Marki, are you okay?" Amia asked me.

"Guys, I have something to tell you."

A/n: A peek into Marki's past I see. Interesting... I wonder what that'll bring to the table... Tune in next time. Don't forget to vote and comment!
