When we went back to school everyone was astonished about what had happened at Gracies. I still couldn't find Bailey, which was unusual for him as his mum would never let him miss a day. I got let out of Science early so I got to go to English earlier, I walked in and I was scared to ask but I went ahead anyways, "Shawn, I mean Mr Cohen could I get a bit of extra help with the assignment." He laughed and looked at me "Of course Layla, also next time, you don't have to stand waiting at the door, you welcome to speak to any of your teachers for extra help you know that right." I nodded as everyone came flooding into the classroom. I sat where I were yesterday, still no sign of Bailey. I started to get really worried and thought I'd go round to his house after school. English went so fast yet again. "Class dismissed everyone," I started to head out of the classroom "Layla? Could you stay behind for a minute." When I turned around everyone looked shocked to see that he wanted to speak to me as I was a known 'goody two shoes' "Mr Cohen, is everything ok?" He offered me a seat. "Do you happen to know where Bailey is?" I wondered whether he realised that I sat alone because Bailey wasn't in "No sir, I was actually planning on heading to his now to see if he's ok." He nodded "Ok be safe, don't want to head back to the hospital!" We both laughed as I walked to Bailey's.

I got to Baileys house and rang the doorbell, I heard footsteps run to the door. His mum opened the door "BAILEY! Oh, Layla, come in..." I was confused why she called me Bailey. She got me a cup of coffee and some biscuits as we sat down. She told me how Bailey never came home last night and she doesn't know what to do. I told her she should dial the police as its nearly been 24 hours. When we called the police they said they would come to the house soon. We got a few pictures ready for the police and waited for them to arrive. I called my mum to tell her I was at Bailey's and to look out for him in case he goes to ours. We was all so worried.

The police came and wore such sour faces, they asked for the pictures of Bailey. Straight away they said they had found him. We was so happy that we could go and see him. "When can we see him officer?" He looked at us "I'm sorry but you cant see him..." I was worried now and so was his mum "I'm afraid that Bailey, Bailey has been found dead... I'm sorry for your loss" We both fell to the floor and cried.

The police man took me home and said sorry for your loss again. I ran inside and locked myself in my room and just cried. My one and only best friend was dead. I would never see him again. My mum told me to open the door so I could have some food. I refused I didn't want to do anything.

A week had passed since Bailey's death and it was time for the funeral. I wore my nicest black dress and headed to the church. I was confused as they wouldn't let us see his body. I know his mum had asked for the coffin to be open but maybe he was in such a state we weren't allowed to see him? I really wished that I didn't have to do this but he deserves to have an amazing funeral. I got called up to make a speech. I was shaking but I managed to get a few words out. "To Bailey, my best friend, my ride or die, you was like a brother to me," I started to cry "You, you were always there for me, through all the hard times. But now I have to let you go." I broke down right there at the stand in front of everyone. He was gone.

We got home and I locked myself away again. Hours went by and I heard a knock on my door. "Mum go away." This time the knock got louder so I went to the door with my eyes still and puffy. "Hey Layla, may I come in?" It was Shawn. "You've missed a lot of school Layla is everything ok?" I was afraid to talk to him anymore. I told him what happened to Bailey and he looked so scared. I burst into tears and Shawn opened his arms and let me fall into them, at least I still had a shoulder to cry on. "Shhhh Layla, its ok." I wiped my eyes "Thank you, you didn't have to come round or anything, "He let on a sigh. "I can relate to how your feeling about Bailey. I lost my older sister to suicide, the bullies were too hard for her to handle." I looked at him "Oh, sorry I didn't know Mr Cohen." He let on a small smile "Call me Shawn." I nodded. My mum came in after Shawn left "I cant even imagine how sad you must be after what happened to Bailey." I asked if she could go as I just wanted to sleep as I'm going back to school tomorrow.
