Shawn's POV
I searched all night on our side of town. I could see her anywhere. I knew she was out here somewhere. I passed the alley, I was willing to risk my life for her. I ran through, no regrets. Before I knew it, I was on the other side. I was still really scared, but I knew Layla was probably even more scared. I ran around looking for her. There was barely anyone on the streets, for the first time ever. The other side of town actually looked quite peaceful. I was shocked. I ran down every street, every side-street, every shop, every restaurant. We passed one place we both loved, Tagträume, which was German for daydreams. It was a place where we both felt like we could be ourselves, living the ultimate daydream. I went in wondering if maybe she was dwelling there. I went in "Shawn, I haven't seen you for a while, where's your special lady, Layla." I walked over to the counter "She's gone missing, I wondered if she has been in here?" He shook his head "I'm sorry Shawn, I haven't saw her since last time you brought her here. Best of luck in finding her, if she comes along I'll let you know.
The sun began to rise. Everyone started coming out of their houses, dealing drugs and causing mischief, one of the main reasons I hated this side of town, was because of it shadiness. I only come here on emergencies. I know it was risky, but it was Layla we on about, I hadn't slept in about 36 hours. I was staying awake on the thought of losing Layla if I went to sleep. I knew there was only one thing to do. Head to room 208... I ran towards the apartment block her dad stayed in. I knew that it was risky but as if it wasn't risky enough staying here. I knocked on the door "Open up! I have to speak to you!" I saw the door open and I barged my way in and started shouting. "I don't know why you would care the tiniest bit, but Layla is missing! I don't know where she is... She's not on our side of town. Do you happen to know if she's here." He looked me dead in the eye like I had offended him. "I had left her with her mother for a reason, I don't want her. Unless she is my slave then I don't want her! Get that into that thick head of yours." I didn't care about what he said about me, but the way he had the guts to slag off his own daughter sickened me. "Don't you dare speak about her like that! You hear me!" As I threatened him I pushed him against a wall. He was breathing heavily and I could smell the alcohol on his breath. "What the hell is going on out here." I saw a woman with a gown on and with a towel on her head. "Darcy?" She looked shocked "Shawn? W What are you doing here?" I couldn't believe my eyes, Darcy was staying with this scumbag. I let go of him and left him drop to the floor "I ain't finished with you, you hear me!" He nodded. "Darcy what are you doing here, I thought you left the country. "I did" She tried explaining to me that she met Liam on the way. "Wait, who is Liam?" She pointed over to Layla's dad. "You, and him" I looked over to him "Man have you down graded." I left the house and didn't bother to return. They obviously didn't know where she was.
I knew of the forest that boarded the town, maybe Layla was in there. I knew I had to find Layla. I knew I had to find her.
Layla's POV
I knew that this forest had boarded the town. If I followed it round I must end up at a road somewhere. I could've died in that room. I wonder who was so evil to leave me there and try to kill me. I lifted up my top to see the mark that the rod had left on my belly. I was going through a forest, which could've been on the wrong side of town. Anyone could come out and find me. I was sure I was just going round in circles. At least it was still morning. I heard a phone ringing. It sounded like my ringtone. I followed it to see a hole in the floor. My phone sat in the hole ringing. It was a private number, but I still grabbed it and picked it up. "Hello?" I felt weird picking it up, but this could be a matter of choice, life or death. "Layla, you have escaped, but how long can a girl stay on the run before her life is done." They hung up. They knew I was gone. I was getting more scared now that I was leaving. My phone rang again, this time with Shawn's name. I picked up "Shawn!" I said excitedly down the phone. "Layla? Is that.. Is that really you!" I couldn't believe it. "Yes Shawn, I'm scared I got captured and..." He cut me off, I could hear his worried tone. "Where are you. We have no time to waste." I started to pick up the pace and turned my walk into a run. "I'm in the old forest and." I could see him "Layla! Omg your head!" He grabbed me and picked me up. "Are you hurt, Did they hurt you." I nodded and he began to run. "Call a cab for your house now, use my phone." He handed me his phone and I called a cab. I knew that Shawn must've figured it all out. But I couldn't help but remember that Darcy girl. She was the main reason I ran away. When we got out of the forest, the cab was already waiting for us. We got in and we told the driver to go quickly out of this town. He nodded and sped up a little bit. "I don't like it here either it's shady." He said as he looked through the rear-view mirror. I put me head onto Shawn's shoulder to hide my cut.
