That night, I lay awake in bed. Wishing that me and Shawn could just scream off a rooftop about how much we were in love, but I knew we would get judged. I always heard of teacher student relationships in books and watched them on shows and movies, but I never thought I would've experienced one myself. I always thought they would feel awkward about it, but surprisingly, it feels normal, just like being in love. I was wondering weather to text Shawn or not. I checked the time off my phone. It was only 11:45 pm, so I didn't hesitate. *Me: Shawn do you ever recon we would be able to tell our parents about us one day as I don't know how long I can last without holding you in our side of town x* I felt it was a little risky, what if he didn't feel the same way. (Bleep) I heard my phone, I had hit the send button. No regrets, right?

*Shawn: Idk but its up to you but right now I feel it's best to keep it a secret xx* Seeing his message made me sad for some reason, but I knew it was the right choice, it was best for the both of us. I put my phone onto my bedside table and closed my eyes, trying to get some sleep. I tossed and turned all through the night, I couldn't sleep at all. I guess tomorrow I would be running off a good few cups of coffee.

As I watched the sun come up I had a strong urge to make a bowl of acai and iced coffee. So I grabbed all the ingredients to make the acai bowl, I got a variety of fruits, tropical and exotic. I put some whipped cream on top of my coffee and drizzled a small amount of caramel on it. I already felt like today would be a very productive Saturday. I got my phone and sent Shawn a message. *Could you meet me at Gracies at noon xx* After I sent this, I got into my sports clothes and decided to go for a nice morning jog near the woods and the old cricket pitch. The weather was lovely, the nature was beautiful. I got back and got into the shower. The sun beamed through the blinds and made lines of sunlight across the bathroom tiles. I headed out of the shower to get dressed. I checked my phone to see it was only 9:15 am. Shawn's name popped up on my screen. *I'll pick you up at 11:45 be ready xx* I was suddenly really excited and happy. Maybe it was because I hadn't seen him in a while..

I heard a loud beep outside, I ran to the door and said that I had ordered a taxi. Surprisingly my mum believed me "Be safe sweetheart!" she gave me a hug and let me leave. "Wait!" I heard Caleb shout as he ran towards me, "Goodbye Layla." I gave him a hug and ruffled his hair. He gave me a stern look then turned it into a laugh. I shut the door behind me, I could see Shawn's car parked across the road. So I ran down the steps to the road, Shawn had his window down. "Thought you'd never show" He lowed his sunglasses and smiled at me. "I'm sorry my mum and Caleb stalled telling me to be careful, as I said I got myself a cab. He got out of his car and got the door for me, "Thank you," He smiled even bigger this time as he got into the car. I tried to remember it was his idea to keep us a secret, that's why he surprised me when he kissed me in the car. Our lips interlocked and I felt like he had always been mine. "So, let's get going." We drove off and headed down town.

My favorite song came on, I'm so tired.. I couldn't help but sing along. "I'm so tired of love songs tired of love songs tired of love songs tired of love." I could sense Shawn looking at me, I started making up lyrics as I felt his eyes staring at me like lasers. "Hey! Keep your eyes on the road!" He looked back to the road but he was still smiling "Shawn..." He nodded "Why are you smiling like that" A million thoughts rushed through my head thinking about why he was smiling. "I'm not smiling" He tried to put on a straight face but he still smiled "Ok, ok, I was smiling because I made you forget the words, and you look really cute when you was clueless of what you were singing." This reminded me of the moments when people would say to you, Oh a smile is contagious. I never really thought of that being true but with Shawn, I'm pretty sure everything is possible. "Layla, Layla?" I realized that Shawn was trying to get my attention, That's when I realized that I was staring at him. "Yea..." I said awkwardly as I had just been staring at him. "I said I'm going to park up, will you be okay  in the car alone for a minute or so?" I nodded, he was so thoughtful.

I decided to take a look in his glove box, I found a girl in there. Darcy Chapman. She was really pretty, like model material. I wondered why her picture was in his glove box with her name underneath. As I looked further, I found a card. An anniversary card, I opened it and began to read the words. 'Dear Shawn, happy anniversary babe. I cant believe we have been together for 6 months. It only feels like I met you yesterday. We always come back to each other after every argument, so it must mean something. Maybe we are soulmates. I love the memories we have and how many more we will share together. From your Darcy. 30.01.09' This was nearly ten years ago. Shawn told me he only got this car about a year or so ago. Why would he keep her card? I didn't want to know. I got out of the car and got the next bus out of town.

As the bus arrived I put my arm out but it drove right passed "You Bastard!" I shouted as it sped down the road, at least I only had to wait ten minutes. I went on my phone and tried calling Bailey but there was no answer. Only then did I realize the ten missed calls from Shawn. I didn't want to pick any of them up so I shut off my phone. Time seemed to go so slowly. Then I felt a sharp object across my head. I saw the black shadow and then I was out cold.

I woke up in an empty room. My phone was gone and there was a massive pile of blood on the floor "Hello? Anyone there?" My head felt like someone was ringing a bell into both of my ears. I tried covering them, only to realize that it was a noise coming from inside of my head, not outside. When I took my hands off my head I placed them onto my knees. The blood was all over my hands where it wasn't before. That's when everything came back. That figure taken me. They hit me with something, maybe a bat, a knife? I should've never left Shawn's car
