The Cat And The Snake

Okay, so I wanna start a little something different. I see a lot of great works out there with very few views, and since I am so lucky to have such a popular book I want to recognize a couple of you! I want to have at least one author a chapter, but I'm going to start out with three!

Today was a new day, the house smells like orange trees, the tv is playing sitcoms, and the basil in the window sill was fresh. Dew jeweled the spiderwebs like diamond strung necklaces, sweet tea filled the glasses in the living room, and summer spilled into every room like it was drowning.

"Hissss"

"Hisssssssss"

"Dear god, I refuse to put up with this," Logan stated, abandoning his book in favor of literally anything else.

"What did you think was going to happen? Remy's always knocked out by 3 pm." Virgil responded, his point emphasized by said sides snoring.

"Not them, that!"

Logan then pointed to a tiny Deceit having a hissing war with the cat.

"Oh yeah, that's been happening for days."

"What?"

"Yup, they usually stop by 4 when Alex takes a nap and then Dee wants to watch Steven Universe."

"Why?"

"I'm not sure, Alex only seems to hiss at Dee when he wears his snake onesie. Which make no sense since Alex doesn't really mind Dee's actual snake."

"Could it be the hood?"

"Nah, the cat knows when I'm not feeling good I wear my hood up. Now, I just wear it up to get Alex's affection."

"Strange..."

"I mean, it's not like Alex gets violent with him."

"I'd hope not!"

"Then again maybe it's just a game they like to play."

"Like when the cat and Remy watch youtube videos for an hour on Saturdays?"

"Guess the cat just bonds with us in different ways." Shrugged Virgil.

"Alex does demand to sit in my lap when I read at breakfast."

"And we listen to music and cuddle all the time."

"The cat is always trying to go with Roman on adventures."

"And cooking with Patton..."

"Huh."

"That's kind of touching."

"HISSSSSSSS!"

"Hey, Dee? Why don't we watch Steven Universe?"

"But Alex and I are hissing!"

"I can hear that, but Alex needs to take a nap."
