All My Family called me back to read for another three-year contract. I smoked enough weed before the audition to make all my nerves disappear. I floated over to ABD and felt like a zombie sitting in the waiting room. They called my name and I walked into the casting to be put on tape. Whatever conversation the casting team tired to make with me flew right over my head. I nodded and smiled too high to acknowledge anybody. I knew my lines and said them boldly in character.
The casting team complimented me, and they only needed the one take.
"You nailed it."
I did not register much of what the casting team said to me. I just smiled and said something generic so I could leave.
"Thanks. This was fun."
I located my car easier that time, and I left the ABD building heading for Michaels.

Michael's dogs Apollo and Duke greeted me as I unlocked the door and set down my messenger bag. Michael sat behind the computer drinking an Ensure. Michael could only drink his food.
"I have to go meet with a client. The submissions on the table all need to be finished, and then any new ones you can add to the pile."
"Ok."
"You have two auditions next week. VID-TEEN wants you to read for a two-episode role. I printed out your sides. The DIZ Channel left me a message, but I need to go. Call them back and get the information."
"Ok, sounds good."
Michael stood up and put a blazer on over his stained T-shirt. Apollo and Duke started barking and circling his feet sensing his departure.
"How did the call back go for ABD?"
"Better than last time."
Michael nodded his head and left.
I looked over the submissions Michal had printed out.
Male, 40's FOX sitcom. (any race) Guest Star (3+ episodes). "creepy next door neighbor" Looking for comedians with sitcom experience.
Male, mid-20s. (any race) "Muscular Hunk" HBO Pilot. "Fitness Instructor" Submit Actors in excellent shape only. Sides available. Send body shots.
Female, 40's-50's( Black or mixed race). Feature /Horror Spoof. Comedy. Film Shooting in Canada June and July. Improv a plus.
Male/Female, ages 4-12( any race). Pilot for ABC. Classroom scenes. Roles with lines and non-speaking parts. Pilot is greenlit for 8 additional episodes. Contract will require 2-3 months availability.
Male, 30's, (White or Hispanic) Young And The Restless. (4+episodes). "Handsome Real Estate Agent". No actors who have filmed with Young And The Restless in the past 5 years.
I organized the headshots and resumes for each Breakdown. I filled all the envelopes and printed out the labels. When I finished I grabbed the sides for the VID-TEEN show and sat on the couch to look them over. The character of Jake. Described as a jock and a bully. This seemed to be the same character for all the roles my age. Different variations of the same role on different networks. I checked my phone.
