Saturday Leah came over to my apartment to help me run lines for my auditions. I told her about the shoot with Carrie and thanked her for the advice on needing a headshot with glasses.
"Carrie is up for a role on an ABD drama. Sean told me about it."
"Is it a big role?"
"The show is already picked up for twenty-two episodes."
"Wow."
"I don't know much about the role Carrie is testing for. It's a secondary role, but she would be in every episode. The character is the younger sister of one of the male leads."
We continued to run lines. I read the scenes three times each off-book before Leah let me finish.
"Any plans?"
"No."
"You?"
"Smoke weed and do nothing. Want to join?"
"Sure."
Leah and I sat on my bed with my bong and started watching Boogie Nights. Thirty minutes into the movie Julia called Leah.
"I'm with the wizard", Leah told Julia.
I laughed at the nickname.
"Come over."
Leah hung up and we continued the movie.
"Julia is on her way."
"Cool."
"She's going to vent about her stupid ex, so get ready."
"Ok."
Twenty-five minutes later Julia burst through the door.
"Where are you guys?" Julia yelled.
"Back here!" Leah yelled back.
Julia slammed the door, and stomped through the living room, down the hall, and into my bedroom.
"You two look cozy."
"Come sit."
Julia joined us on the bed and complained about her ex for ten minutes before stopping for a breath. Julia pulled a bottle of pills out of her purse.
"I need a Xanax, you guys want?"
I took a pill and handed the bong to Julia. I left the bedroom and went to the fridge bringing back three bottles of water and a bag of Kettle Corn.
Julia sat on my bed taking a bong hit and setting it on the nightstand. Leah kneeled on the floor looking through my book of DVDs.
"Let's switch to Scream."
"Excellent choice," I said, climbing back onto the bed beside Julia.
Leah put in the DVD and snuggled up next to me on my right. Halfway into the movie, Julia's ex called her and she took the call in the living room. Leah grabbed my laptop and started going through my i-tunes playlist. We danced around my bedroom waiting for Julia. Julia came back looking stressed, and she handed out another round of Xanax. We continued watching Scream and the three of us passed out right before the movie ended.
