"sometimes it comes in waves, washing over me and sending me into this downward spiral."
I sat in the divers seat of my car, fidgeting around with the burner phone I just picked up, knowing that he wouldn't be able to track my calls anymore.
Turning the radio up, I grab a pack of cigarettes, grabbing one from the pack and lighting it up before pulling out of the parking lot.
Back onto the main road, driving around so I could clear my mind and make up a game plan.
I trusted Mendes, I knew he was very well capable of getting Selena back - I just didn't trust the fact that Clive was behind it all.
Knowing exactly how his sick mind worked.
It's how the Clyde family worked, or at least the three of them.
I chewed my bottom lip, dialling one of few phone numbers I knew, waiting impatiently as it rung a few times before being answered.
"Hello?" He questioned, his voice deep with confusion, I couldn't help but snicker out, knowing immediately by his voice that it was him.
"I need some assistance," I drawl out, knowing he was probably standing there looking like an idiot trying to figure out who the hell I was.
I cleared my throat, "C'mon Ace, I need Spades help." I added on, chewing the inside of my cheek.
Knowing that I've truly hit rock bottom when I'm sitting here pleading with a ex - psycho murderer for his crazy brilliant wife's help.
That's what my life's come to.
He started laughing on the other end, before going into a coughing fit, only to start some more laughing. I groaned out, rolling my eyes at his behaviour.
"Hayley Smith is asking for help? Is the world ending?" Ace sputtered out before going into another laughing fit.
I grumbled out, "You stupid twat."
I hear movement when another voice appeared, "What can I help you with Hayley?"
A small smile lifted on my lips when I hear Spades voice, "So, the mall was shot up earlier by some of Clive's goons all to get a girl, her names Selena Callisto," I cut myself off, feeling my heart face.
Hoping and praying she was still alive.
"They ended up taking her and I was hoping you could do some hacking and digging and see if you find anything on security cameras or even traffic lights." I rambled out, hoping I didn't sound like a mad woman.
But everyone around me already knew I lost my head, there was nothing left to me.
I hear her click her tongue on the other end, humming lightly when she makes a strange noise. "Your girl Selena is a good one, spotless record, volunteers and even does some charity work," She says softly.
"Ah. She even goes to church, why would anyone take her and shoot up an entire mall?"
I chewed my bottom lip, not knowing exactly how to answer her question because I didn't want to give the truth but I also don't want to lie to her.
Do you see my dilemma?
"She's a childhood friend, someone I care deeply about. She flew in to surprise me and I was on my way to the mall to pick her up when the shoot out started." I answered honestly, knowing there was no reason to lie to her.
