"As the years passed, pieces of me chipped away and now there's nothing left."
The light seeped in through the curtains, causing me to move around when my eyes flew open. I sat up slowly, my entire body aching as my eyes widened.
I was in my bed, in my bedroom. But how I got here was a mystery to me. I remember being at that building and killing Charles Clyde when V showed up.
Glancing down at my hands, I realized they were now clean, I wasn't in the same clothes I was in last night either.
Sliding out of bed; I walked around the room when I hear movement downstairs, catching me off guard. I rubbed my eyes, letting out one last yawn before heading downstairs.
Following the noise until it led me into the kitchen, my gaze instantly falling on Spade who stood there making coffee.
"What are you doing in my house?" I questioned, watching her jump while screaming out.
She spun around so her back was no longer facing me, her eyes narrowed when she took in my appearance, "He spent the entire night here before getting me to swing by-"
"Who? V?" I questioned, cutting her off.
She nodded, "You passed out and he cleaned you up, changed your bloody clothes before putting you to bed." She stated, looking away from me.
Causing my stomach to churn, because ever since I first entered the kitchen she wouldn't hold my gaze, never once looking me in the eyes while talking to me.
My anxiety spiked and I grabbed one of the coffees, plopping down on one of the stools; snatching the bottle of Tylenol from the table.
Popping four of them and drinking them down with my coffee, hoping they would help with the pain.
"What aren't you telling me Spade?" I drawl out, looking over at her, sipping away at my black coffee.
She stared down at her hands, playing with her coffee cup before sighing out loudly; "There's around 20 trained killers all on the hunt for you so they can win that reward the Clyde's put out." She rambled out, her eyes widening.
I tapped my fingers along the counter and shrugged my shoulders, "That isn't anything new-"
"You aren't safe Hayley, you need to lay low for a while. The Clyde's already knows you killed Kimberly, but when they find out you killed Charles too - the price will go up." She rambled off again.
I sat there, letting her words sink in as I drank my coffee, luckily getting a good amount of sleep so I wasn't tired or sleep deprived for the day.
She ended up leaving when I fell back asleep, sleeping for another few hours before finally reawakening.
Showering and changing my clothes before covering up my face with some makeup, pulling my hair back before sneaking out of the house.
Sitting behind the steering wheel for a few minutes before turning the car on, feeling my head grow light. I didn't feel right, it felt like I was having an out of body experience.
