Adams POV

After setting down the presents and grabbing myself a hot chocolate I sit on the couch next to my uncle Ray. My eyes graze across the room until they find what they are looking for. The most important woman in my life, my mother, and the love of my life. I smile to myself, quietly sipping on my drink. How did I get so lucky? She smiles and lays her hand on my mothers shoulder, I wonder what they are talking about. I let my eyes run over her features. Her long dark hair was now swept to the side, her smile seemed to light up the room. The way she crossed her legs let me know she was in pain. I hated seeing her hurt, but I understood that she doesn't want to go back to the doctor. She is nothing but a pincushion to them. I reach into my jacket pocket and grab her pain pills. She had asked me to hold onto them, said she didn't trust herself enough with them.  I am doing the best I can to help her with her addiction disorders and eating disorder, I think she is handling it very well. She has only had two slip ups with pills, but within a week that was over with and she was back on track. Hasn't had a slip up since she got her GED started going to the art program at the local college. I was very proud of her. Taking two pills out of the bottle I replace them in my pocket before walking into the kitchen to get a glass of water for her. I silently slip the pills onto the counter next to her with the glass of the water, not wanting to interrupt her conversation with Mom. She quickly grabbed them up and swallowed them, the relief in her eyes. I wink at her as I walk away and she blushes.

Sitting back next to Ray he clasps his hand onto my shoulder, shaking me slightly. "You love her, don't you Noah?" I smiled and shook my head as he called me by my middle name. "Yea Ray, I do." I smile bigger as I look up and see she's now holding my cousins newborn son. I wonder what it would be like to start a family with her? Wait, what? Where did that thought come from? Ray snaps me out of my thoughts, "So, when you gonna man up and ask her to marry you?" I smile and turn to him so my side was blocked away from Hannah's view, opening my jacket and pulling a small ring box out of my pocket. Opening it I show him the vintage 1930s engagement ring I had hand picked out earlier that week. "I got it Monday, now the thing is getting up the balls to ask her." He laughed as I set the ring back in my pocket and sit back in my original position. Frankie comes and jumps in my lap, laying her head on my shoulder. She's such a daddy's girl. Hmm, I could I wonder if I would be a good dad? Again with those thoughts!! I look back over at her and feel my hear skip a beat. "It was always her Ray. She's the one my hearts been waiting for." I hear him chuckle from beside me and turn his head and look at his wife across the room beginning to hand out presents, "I know how that is Noah. I knew the second I saw your aunt Missy I had to have her in my life, I knew she was the one." He smiles and takes a sip of his brandy and shoots her a wink. I hope to have a love like that one day, after 46 years of marriage they were still so in love.

Hannah makes her way over to where I am sitting and folds herself onto my lap. My arms wrap around her protectively as I kiss her cheek, "Well hello beautiful." She turns and smiles and gives me a proper kiss on the lips, taking her thumb and rubbing the lipstick she had left on me off. I hear the shutter of a camera and look over to see my mom taking pictures of us on her cell phone. I smile and wink at her, blowing her a kiss. She has a cheesy smile on her face and hands me my present and Hannah hers. Hannah stands up to go find a seat but I stand up and catch her, pulling her back to where I was sitting and settling next to her feet with Frankie. I smile and pat her knee as we all begin to open presents. A series of "I love it," and "Thank you so much," was heard throughout the room as everyone thanked those responsible for their gifts. I look up and see Hannah with a special gleam in her eyes as she held up her present. It was a framed photo of me, her, my mom, and the rest of my family on Thanksgiving. The frame said, "Family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life who want you in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what." Her eyes filled with tears as she stands up and walks across to my mother, giving her a huge hug and sobbing. My mom rubs her back with tears in her eyes. I can hear my mom whispering to her, "You are MY daughter, nothing will change that now." My own eyes begin to get misty as I long to hold her, but this is what she needs right now.

After everyone leaves me and Hannah stay to help my mom clean up. Before long Hannah had changed into a pair of those pajamas with feet in my aunt had given her a few hours earlier. I pulled out my matching pair and change, joining her and my mom on the couch watching Christmas movies. She had her feet in my lap and her head rested against my mom. I begin to rub her feet and legs, winking at her as she gives me a sweet smile. This is where it all started a few months ago, a simple foot rub. Soon her eyes are getting heavy and I can tell she's tired. "Come on baby, lets go home." She nods her head and holds her arms up, gesturing for me to pick her up. I chuckle to myself and lift her effortlessly into my arms. "Good night mom, Merry Christmas." I give her a kiss on the head and she kisses my cheek as I walk out the door. "Come on Frankie!" She runs to follow after me, but gets shot back onto the floor when her massive bone my mom had gotten her got stuck in the doorway. I gently place Hannah in her seat before running back up the stairs to move the bone from Frankie's mouth and carry her to the car, placing them both in the backseat. The ride home was quiet as Hannah was fighting sleep, before long sleep had won. I once again picked her up and carried her easily into the house, Frankie close behind me. Laying her in bed I swept her hair out of her face and pulled it up into a bun, knowing she couldn't stay asleep if her hair was down. Kissing her head I step back and admire her beauty. Turning on my heels I make my way out the room, "Come on Frankie." I call for her to follow me outside but she remains in bed laying with Hannah, keeping her warm and safe. I smile and take a picture of them and posting it to twitter. The caption read, "Feliz navidad from Casa Levine." Smiling I walk out the room and into my office, now to finish this song I have been working on. This woman has some serious power over me.
