Chapter 2

Aiden's POV

"We need to be ready," my Alpha said as we discussed the upcoming war in his office.

"I know, the young wolves just aren't as strong as we need them to be yet," I replied frustrated.

"Well make them ready!" screamed my Alpha. Being a Zeta, (war planner) I am also in charge of training the pups. By now, I was already at my room and couldn't take the frustration. Times like these would be good to have a mate to calm me down. I shoved through the glass doors to my terrace. I pushed myself onto the railing, stood up and sprung into the air, shifting into a black and white green-eyed wolf. I gracefully landed on the ground and kept running. I ran for hours and eventually ended up at the pack house but I wasn't ready to go back inside. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going but something was drawing me to a settlement of humans. The pack house was about 20 miles into the woods away from humans. I was in the middle of town running behind the buildings so I was covered. There usually isn't anyone walking the streets at 1 o'clock at night. I looked up at the gorgeous girl. My mate. She was absolutely amazing. And human. That wasn't a bad thing, it just made making her falling in love me that much harder. She doesn't know what werewolves are, or mates. She doesn't know I'm her mate! Okay, this might be a problem, but she's mine and I'm going to make it that way. I backed away keeping my eyes on her the whole time when she glanced up and we made eye contact. I followed the scent of my mate. I wound up at the apartment building where she lived. Now knowing where she lived and that she was home safe, I headed back to the pack house planning how I would 'meet' her tomorrow in human form.

The next day curiosity got the better of me. Why was she walking home at 1am? It wasn't safe. I went back to the settlement around 1o'clock and waited. By 3 o'clock I picked up on her scent. And someone else's.

"Rogue," I mind linked to the pack and filled them in on the location. I glanced up at my horrified mate with the rogue on top of her.I pulled him off and backed away keeping my eyes on her the whole time. 10 minutes later, the pack leaders showed up, now that the Alpha was here to take the rogue to the pack jail. So much for meeting her in human form.
