Chapter 11

Aiden's POV

The next day was long and stressful, you can't even imagine how much energy pups have. They don't listen, they don't behave yet it's still a natural wolf instinct to want a pup more than anything. I had to run back to my car in Scarlet's parking lot, which helped but also gave me time to think. I climbed the stairs of Scarlet's apartment and knocked on the door. I really wanted a key to her apartment, and Scarlet having that weird scent on her didn't calm my wolf the slightest. Suddenly I heard running towards the door and it opened, only for me to see a little boy as I tried to hide my shock.

"Oooo, your Mama's friend," he giggled.

"Hey bud," I said confused trying to figure out where Scarlet was and what the hell was going on.

"I knows you but you don't know who I am," he figured out, which for some reason was hysterical. It was 11 am on a Saturday yet Scarlet appeared from the kitchen in short pyjama shorts and a tank top that just missed her shorts, her hair was messy and she looked adorable.

"Baby, you're not supposed to open the door!" she scolded although she wasn't mad. Then she looked up and froze.

"Scarlet, I'm going to be very calm but I need some answers because I am very confused," I sounded out slowly.

"Mama, Imma go play with my cars," the little boy said tugging on Scarlet's leg, making her eyes widen even more. Shit, Mama?  Is this kid her's? She was still frozen. I guided her over to sit down on the couch.

"Babe, is he...?" I asked not knowing how to finish that sentence.

        "Yes," she squeaked, looking nervous.

"And his father?" I asked. She dragged me to the door and came into the hallway with me.

"Left as soon as he found out I was pregnant," she answered. I nodded, she was looked like she was about to cry. I pulled her into a hug. After a few moments she pulled away.

"I'm sorry," she said, walking back to her apartment and closing the door on me. What? Was she ending us???

I stuck my foot in the way of the door, I was so ready to fight for my mate. I stepped inside and pulled her into me for a kiss, my way of telling her it's gonna be okay.

"I'm not leaving," I whispered, not ready to let go of her, "What's his name?" I continued after such a long silence, does she believe me?

"Maverick," she whispered smiling. I smiled back and dragged her to his room.

"Hey bud, I'm Aiden," I introduced sitting down on the floor, pulling Scarlet into my lap.

"Do you want to be the red car?" Maverick asked.

"Of course!!!" I exclaimed, Scarlet turned around, realizing he was bringing out the 5 year old in me. After playing for about an hour Scarlet got up to shower when I realized how hungry Maverick was considering he never ate breakfast.

"Maverick, want to make pancakes for you and Mama?" I asked.

"Can they be chocolate chips," asked Maverick.

"You think we would make them without?"I questioned. He shook his head and got the pre-made mix out of the fridge from this morning. I heated up the pan and poured on the batter, picking him up to throw in the chocolate chips and to flip the pancakes. His scent was what I smelled on Scarlet, which matched the rogue, her kid was half werewolf! Shit does she know?

I finally set Maverick down with a plate when I heard a loud thud which was even louder thanks to my werewolf hearing which was then followed by a scream and a curse.

"Mama said a bad word," giggled Maverick. I ran into the bathroom, scared she was hurt. She heard me run into the bathroom, "Maverick, go play with Aiden until I'm done showering okay baby?" Did she think I was Maverick.

"Scarlet?" I asked, making her realize it was me. She stuck her head out and immediately blushed.

        "Are you okay?" I asked.

"I don't know I need your help come here," she asked, confusing me. I listened and walked towards her until I was right next to the curtain, and I focused really hard to not think about that.

        "What's wrong?" I asked.

"Your not wet enough," she said jumping out of the shower onto me. I almost toppled over, completely soaked now. I looked up and down her, she was beaming with confidence, making me pur. Causing her to laugh. I got up and locked the door, "Uh, oh," she screamed

"Uh, oh is right," I replied, and started stripping. When I finally caught her, I threw her over my shoulder and took her into the shower. I wasn't going to do anything new with her while her son is in the apartment but we...made out until she decided I needed help washing my body.

"My sister's taking Maverick for the weekend," Scarlet explained as we walked out in towels while the front door opened.

"Hey, I'm Tori, and I've heard alot about you," winked Scarlet's sister as Maverick ran to get his bag. I walked to the kitchen to take the pan off the hot burner when I saw the overdue rent bills.

"Do you have your toothbrush?" asked Scarlet when he returned. Maverick shook his head.

"I'll get it," Tori said walking to the bathroom.

"Bye Mama, Bye Aiden," Maverick said, hugging Scarlet, and then me, making me drop my towel when he jumped on me although he didn't see, but turned around when Scarlet slipped out a moan. Tori came back from the bathroom, with her socks soaked and I smiled sheepishly.

"See you Sunday!" called Tori as she lead Maverick out of the apartment.
