Chapter 13
Aiden's POV
Scarlet has continued to blow me off since I asked her to quit her job and move in with me, but I wasn't gonna give up without her knowing how I felt about her or how much I needed her. I was headed over to the pack house when I saw Scarlet leaving the diner.
"Scarlet! Hey babe, what's up?" I asked.
"Look, Aiden. I'm tired okay, and I don't have time to deal with this. I need to go home to Maverick" she said seeming truly exhausted.
"Just hear me out okay. It will take five minutes" I pleaded
"Five minutes. No more." she said
"Scar, you have no idea how much you mean to me. I have only known you for a few months, but I would do anything for you. I don't know when, or why, or even how, but somewhere along the way I fell fo you, hard and fast. It just came out of nowhere. I. Love You.I want you and Maverick to move in. I want to take care of the two of you, and see where this takes us. Scarlett, I love you." I said passionately while staring into her beautiful blue eyes."
"I can't do this right now," Scarlet whispered, running to her car. I completely flipped out and shifted then and there. Scarlet was already starting her car and looking through her purse and didn't see me shift but she stopped dead in her tracks when she recognized my wolf in front of her car. I ran beside her car on the highway and followed her all the way home. When I finally shifted back I saw a missed call from Tori. I imediately called her back.
"Hey Tori," I greeted.
"Greetings," she replied in a evilish way. Wow, a girlfriends best friend is literally like the best entertainment at times.
"What's up?" I asked, hesitant.
"Well, I don't want to bother Scarlet with this but I can't watch Maverick any night this weekend, could you cover for me? He needs to be picked up from preschool and taken home by 4...,"
"Of course," I interupted.

That night Maverick and I were having the time of our lives.
"Today's my birthday!" Maverick exclaimed excitedly
"How old are you?" I asked.
"5!" Maverick said jumping up and down. The rest of the night consisted of playing with his cars until he said, "are you gonna sleepover for my birthday?"
"I don't think I can this weekend, but I can take you out for ice cream right now," I offered.
"Okay" he said happily

Scarlett's POV
I just got home from working, when I noticed that Maverick wasn't home. I began worrying. Where was Maverick? Did Tori take him somewhere and not tell me? I picked up the phone and dialed Tori's number. She picked up on the third ring.
"Hey" she answered
"Hey. I was just wondering where you and Maverick were" I said
"Oh..." there was a pause before she answered again "We just went out for ice cream since it's his birthday," she replied.
"Okay" I replied before hanging up. I made my way into my room and stripped out of my clothes that smelled like greasy diner food and got into the shower. I quickly washed my hair and body before getting out, drying off, putting on shorts and a tank top, and piling my hair on top of my head into a bun.
Just as I left my room, there was a knock on the door. I figured it was Tori and Maverick, so I opened the door, but I didn't see what I was expecting to see.
It was Reece. He was leaning up against the door frame with a cocky smirk on his face
What was he doing here??
"Hey babe. It's been a while" he said before stepping in the room
