The war ended with the defeat of Voldemort. All the death eaters were sentenced to life in Azkaban. Everything seemed to be falling back into place now.
Hermione, Harry and Ron still held the scars of all the horrid things they had witnessed, but they knew that it was time to move on and live their lives without fear of the past.
Hogwarts had been completely and utterly destroyed beyond recognition on the night of the final battle. It broke the hearts of many to see their home-away-from-home take to the ground as if it meant nothing to anyone at all.
The deaths of those they loved was something indescribable, it hurt in ways they never knew could be possible. A dark gloom settled over the world after the battle but soon the sun of a new hope shone down on everyone. The scars healed overtime.
Hermione, unlike Harry and Ron, was disappointed that she couldn't finish her last year at Hogwarts. The other two didn't seem to mind as the three of them had already been offered jobs; Harry and Ron as Aurors and Hermione as a Healer, but Hermione was addiment on finishing her education, despite Hogwarts being destroyed.
One morning, there was a small, barely audible knock at Hermione's window. She ran to the window and let the messenger owl in. With one look at the envelope the owl held in its beak, Hermione fell into hysterical shouts of excitement.
She had received her Hogwarts letter and was packing her stuff for the new school year ahead in no time at all.
After the battle, Hogwarts had been rebuilt and all seventh-year students were offered the chance to redo their school year. Hermione, of course, was ecstatic to hear this and wrote her confirmation letter immediately.
With her trunk packed and ready to go, she ran downstairs and bid her goodbyes to her mum and dad, promising to write to them every once in a while. She was determined to make the best of her new year. Considering the fact that they had defeated Voldemort, this might be a quiet year as the possibility of constant threats was considerably less. She hoped and wished with all her heart that it would be a calm and normal school year... Merlin knows she needed it.
Smiling widely, she gave a last wave to her parents and apparated to Kings Cross Station, running through the barrier wall of platform 9 ¾, excited to start her last year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Maybe this one will be better...calmer.
But fate had other plans.
Hermione and Draco are part of a prophecy that will save the world, but they don't know that yet. Both hold unfathomable power stronger than all forces except one all-consuming power; love. Will their hate eventually become love or will their resentment for each other only grow stronger?
Apart they can destroy the world, together they can save it.
The ministry is determined to stop them but will the destined duo work together and fight against all odds to fulfil their purpose and find love? Their lives are about to take an unexpected twist of fate predicted centuries ago.
Born to be apart but destined to be together.
