The Outsiders Headcanons

Some headcanons for my favourite book!

Note: spoilers. in these headcanons, Johnny and Dallas both live (Johnny didn't die, and Dally's suicide attempt failed)

🌻 Darry refuses to take two trips for groceries EVER. He has marks on his arms from grocery bag handles. Ponyboy and Sodapop think it's absolutely hilarious.

🌻 Soda has the most amazing singing voice. It's so smooth and just the right pitch and perfect. Ponyboy tacked it onto his list of other reasons Soda was movie-star material

🌻 After Johnny got out of the hospital, he cut his hair short and never grew it because he wanted to remind himself that he was his own person, not just a Greaser.

🌻 Dally has a scar under his left eye from getting in a switchblade fight with a group of Socs. Everyone in the gang thinks it's cute but Dally pretends to hate it.

🌻 The book states explicitly that Ponyboy is ticklish. The whole gang teams up on the poor boy sometimes, including Johnny.

🌻 Two-Bit has a habit of scratching his arm when he gets nervous. He has a scar on his let arm, just above his inner elbow, from this habit.

🌻 Dally never let Ponyboy give him back his jacket. He insisted that it wasn't worth anything to him, and that he could just get another one. The gang gives him shit over it, especially Pony.

🌻 Steve is blind in one eye from getting a switchblade to the eye. Everyone thinks it's badass ("Why does Steve get to be badass but not me?!" - Dally at some point, complaining about his scar)

🌻 Johnny's eyes glow in the dark a little bit. 

🌻 Ponyboy wore contacts for a straight year because he hated the colour of his eyes that much, but Darry eventually caught on and forced him to understand that his eyes were fine.

🌻 Literally everyone in the gang has said at least once that Dally is hot as heck.

🌻 The gang learned sign language after discovering that one of the Greasers had gone deaf after the Rumble.

🌻 Two-Bit and Soda are super into technology, and built a robot out of scrap metal from the junkyard when Ponyboy was a baby. The robot was like Pony's babysitter, and the kid loved it. It broke down one year, and Two-Bit and Soda secretly built a new one behind everyone's backs for Pony's sixteenth birthday.

🌻 Darry is fascinated with flowers. Sometimes Soda sends flowers into Darry's work, and Ponyboy makes flower crowns with Darry in the football field at sunset.

🌻 Steve took fencing with Dally for a few years. 

🌻 Once Dally grew his hair long enough to pull back. He kept it that way for a year before deciding it was too much work and cutting it again.

🌻 Darry has faint freckles.

🌻 Dally is pansexual, and will fight anyone who disagrees with him

🌻 Johnny sometimes has panic attacks, and the only thing that can calm him is Soda singing something or Dally

Idk this stuff is just my shit
