Lita's POV
I'm in the kitchen cooking dad's breakfast. I thought I heard dad with the bitch last night but he did beat be before she came over. I ironed his shirt wrong so I have a burn mark on my side. I'm glad he missed my face. How would I explain that?
I take out two plates because I don't think the bitch left last night. As I placed a glass on the table, I heard dad talking to faith. What should I do? I tried to scope the eggs on the plate and luckily the toast pops from the toaster. I slice it quickly and get the butter. "Staying for breakfast," Dad asks Faith. They're getting closer.
I quickly pour some orange juice and look at the table. Everything's out and the table looks good. I tried to clean up before dad came down but I was too late. "Lita? What are you still doing here," Dad asked. I took a deep breath and turned around. "Breakfast is ready. I cooked for the both of you," I said not wanting to say the bitch's name in anyway.
"Honey school doesn't start for another hour. Plus she made breakfast. How sweet is that," the bitch said snaking her hands around dad's waist. I saw dad smile and kiss the bitch in front of me. Of course dad's eyes were open but the bitch's weren't. Dad had his eyes on the prize. Me. The relief for all his anger.
Dad and the bitch pulled back and Dad said, "Lita you can go now. Let the adults eat." I nodded slowly and headed for the door. I almost made it too but Dad tripped me. I landed on the hardwood floor and I landed on my elbow. It was burning and I felt the tears rush to my eyes.
"Lita are you ok," The bitch asked. "Are you," Dad asked. I looked at them and Dad still didn't look at me. I turned my head to hide the tears. "I'm fine. I'm just clumsy," I said. "You need to watch out sometimes. A sensitive girl like you could get hurt," the bitch asked. I nodded and struggled to get up. "Let me help," The bitch said and reached for me. "No," I exclaimed and looked at her.
The bitch jumped back at my voice and I instantly regretted. "Lita you can go upstairs now. Faith why don't we go eat," Dad asked. I turned my head but heard Faith's heels on the floor walk into the kitchen with Dad's boots.
I helped myself up and walked towards my room. I don't need that bitch's help. Other people only get in the way. No one cares about me and that's fantastic. Someone's out there waiting for me to crack or worse. Waiting for me to have a realization that life isn't so bad. Those people will just wait because this is reality. This is my reality.

"Damn girl what happened to your face," someone asked as I walked down the hall. I ran for the bathroom and to my luck the bell rang. I didn't know it was this bad. Dad punched me before I left school after Faith left. I remember the stings. I remember the blood. I remember his face but I can't remember what I looked like when I left the house. I was in a numb stage and just wanted to leave the house as soon as possible.
I looked in the mirror and saw that the skin around my eye was puffing up and that my lip was still bleeding. Before I left the house I put cover up on my eye but obviously I need to upgrade. Now I'll have to put in more houres at work. Dad wants more money and I think I know who he's spending it on. "Lita are you ok," someone asked. I turned around and it was Nicole. I nodded. "Well what happened," Nicole asked while getting a first aid kit out of her bag. "I saw you run to the bathroom when the bell rang," Nicki said.
