Spencer gets in her car and drives over to her parents house. Luckily, her father isn't home until later so she won't have to deal with him today.
She knocks on the door, waiting for her mom to answer. She hears footsteps and the door opens.
Veronica: Spencer! Hi honey! How are you?
Spencer: I'm doing well, you?
Veronica: I'm doing good!
Spencer and Veronica hug and as soon as they let go Spencer quickly puts her hands in her pocket.
Veronica: What did you want to talk to me about?
Spencer: Can we sit down?
Veronica: Yes, is course!
They sit down and Spencer covers her left hand with her right.
Spencer: Mom... I don't know how you are going to take this. But hopefully this will be better than Dad's reaction.
Veronica: What is it?
Spencer: Toby and I... we are engaged. We are getting married.
