Everything has felt weirdly purple and warm. It's a very soft color. Nice. Not dark, and not necessarily happy. Perfect for me in this moment. I didn't know how to feel was this just me? I looked over to Lance who had apparently been looking at me up until now. Crap. I quickly averted my eyes to the floor.
When we were back in the crowded house it was easier for me to escape from Lance. I quickly maneuvered my way around the people. My heart was beating fast and I quickly locked myself in the closest room I found not occupied by horny teens making out. Finally safe, I exhaled loudly and backed away from the door. I stood there in silence and put my hands to my head trying to stop myself from a panic attack.
"What am I doing here?" I asked aloud.
"Not sure, though I'm glad you are here" a deep voice replied. I lifted my head from my hands and looked around. It was too dark to identify who it was.
"Hello?"
"Hi" I turned red.
"O-oh, I'm so sorry I didn't know s-someone was already in here-" I said backing away to the door.
"Oh please it's quite alright." The voice said. I could feel the presence approach me. "After all, you did lock yourself in here, you must want to be with me." Now I was confused and my head went a mile a minute.
"W-what?" I asked/whispered.
"Come on over to the bed, and let's talk" the voice said grabbing tightly onto my arm. Fear struck into my body faster than ever and I tried to pull away from him.
"No, thanks I think I'll just leave" I said trying to free my arm. At my attempt I felt him clamp down harder. I moaned a bit in pain. "L-let go!" I said, very fearful now.
"Calm down just relax" suddenly I recognized the voice. Panic was swirling around my head as I remembered my past experiences with this man and what Lance has specifically told me to do. When I next spoke my voice was whiny and shaky.
"P-please let me go" I saw his silhouette owner over me, then his other arm leaned against the door next to my face. I was held there, shaking slightly as he spoke.
"I just want to have a little fun" he said.
"No!" I pushed him with everything I had with my other free arm but he latched onto that one too and pinned me against the wall again.
"Come now, don't make this difficult." I could feel tears forming in my eyes as he got closer and closer. Life went in slow motion as he pushed his fowl mouth against mine. I forcefully shut my eyes and pretended I was somewhere, anywhere else. Suddenly allura's voice was heard from the other side of the door. We separated as she fiddled with the handle. It opened and the light burst in. We both squinted as our eyes hadn't adjusted. She didn't look but yelled "there's no way I'm letting anyone get busy in my parents room! Put some clothes on and get out of here!" And as soon as she had come she was gone. I took my chance and quickly shook free of him and ran out the door. Allura was gone and the party had gone on like nothing happened. The tears I was fighting to keep back finally fell.
Pidge was at my side.
"Keith?" I jumped in surprise.
"Oh, h-hey" I said. I was holding in an attack.
"What's-" I didn't wait for her to finish as I was already bolting my way out of there. I got to the front door and ran out onto the street. I heard a couple voices calling after me. I didn't care I couldn't stop.
Lance POV
Ever since I lost track of Keith I had a crappy feeling in my chest. Pidge ran right into me.
"Hey! what the fu-"
"Shut up and come on!" She said and dragged me to the front door. I saw a silhouette in the darkness running away. I didn't know who it was until Pidge yelled out "Keith!" Hunk and allura had at some point shown up and were standing next to me also calling his name.
"Lance!" I heard. I was still lost. Confused at what was going on. "Lance!"
"Y-yeah?" I said shaking free of my trance on the figure fading into the black of night.
"You're the fastest one here go after him!" Pidge said. I blacked out again and the next thing I knew my feet were slamming against the cement and I was panting heavily. I was chasing Keith. He was still far ahead of me. Crap. I thought as I sped up. I could feel the soles of my shoes giving out. I ran past a bus stop as rain suddenly began pouring. Damnit! I stopped and went under the cover. I caught my breath as the patterning of the rain came down harder and harder. Shit. This was one of the reasons I loved rain. It was so sudden sometimes, and didn't give a shit about you or what you were doing. Eventually I caught my breath and I let the sound of the rain soothe my rambling brain. In the distance I heard a crack of thunder and my brain was suddenly at peace. I was glad to be back In my right mind set. I don't even think it would have been right for me to face Keith like that. Keith. Damn. Why was it me who was sent out into the rain. A car went by and a louder crack of thunder. I heard someone next to me squeal. I looked over to a little figure curled up into a ball on the other end of the bench. I couldn't see their face in the darkness.
"A-are you okay?" They didn't respond. I thought it best to provide comfort as this person seemed to be in the middle of a panic attack and was crying non stop. How had I not noticed them before?
I got closer and laid an arm around the shivering figure. They jumped a bit at my touch but leaned into it hesitantly. I smiled and wrapped my other arm around them. I inhaled and the smell of Keith replaced the smell of rain in my senses. My eyes widened.
"Keith?" The person in my arms looked up and bright purple eyes struck into me through my soul. He looked shocked as well and pushed me away. He put his feet on the floor and crossed his arms over his chest.
"What are y-you d-doing here?" He said quietly.
"Looking for you of course." I said smiling. If at one point it was pitch black outside pouring it had changed completely now. There was a faint hue over us and I could see his face clearly. The cold air and wind whipping around us was suddenly less intense. Warmer.
He wasn't responding to me, though I noticed he wasn't panicking anymore.
"What happened?" I asked. It couldn't have been me who did this. Right?
"Nothing." He said. His voice was cold.
"Please?"
"No. I've shared enough already." I sighed and leaned back against the bench.
"Alright, I guess it has been quite a big day for you Keithy... but promise me you'll tell me soon?" His beautiful eyes looked at me and then quickly glanced back down at his feet. He nodded his head and I smiled. "Good." I said. We watched the rain in silence a little longer. We knew we were stuck here until it lightened up a little bit. While lost in my thoughts I felt him lean on me. My cheeks heated up and my body stiffened. I looked down and saw him leaning on me and staring out into space. He reminded me of a cat as he nuzzled into me and I smiled. I patted his head and his stiff expression relaxed. I continued to stroke his incredibly soft hair until the rain softened.
Keith POV
I planned on telling lance what happened in that room with -him. I just couldn't share anymore. I had never opened up to anyone like this before besides shiro and he had forced it out of him. It never made me feel great. Though, I was afraid if I would ever be able to open up to him again. When I was by myself it seemed impossible to ever open up to someone like that. Something about lance's presence always brought it out of me. Lance played with my hair and I felt different. I couldn't pinpoint it so I ignored it and hoped no more lightning would come down.
"So some time has passed... wanna let me know?" I looked up to see lances idiot face smirking down at me. I glared at him and he said "alright alright I got it." Silence again. It felt nice. How had my attack gone away again? I was freaking out just a bit ago. Was it lance? Ha, no way. No. Way.
