"Albert?" asked Peter.

"Are you going back to Stary Oskol to fight with us?"

"No, I'm staying here with Ernst and Charlotte, we plan to head back to Germany. We were going to do that today but this invasion of Stary Oskol made a delay for us. Tomorrow, we leave."

"Well, I'm sorry I can't come with you. I'm sure my unit is looking for me now. Do you plan to leave tomorrow?"

"Yes, Peter. Charlotte and the rest of us will get ready tonight and leave at about seven in the morning."

There was a big explosion that came from the way of Stary Oskol. We all looked that way and saw a giant cloud of smoke that was forming in the sky.

"Maybe I should go now." said Peter.

Albert handed him a gun as he walked away.

"I wish you both luck, Albert and Ernst." said to Peter as he turned around.

"You too, Peter." said them both.

The three of them watch as Peter walked off to Stary Oskol. He disappeared into the forest and would never be seen ever again by the three. There were faint voices coming from the battle in the Russian city.

"Artillery!" one yelled.

More explosions and screaming. Albert and Ernst watched the trails the artillery shells made in the sky, coming from the South.

"They're bombing their own city?" exclaimed Ernst.

"Just to keep us out which won't work, perhaps."

"Albert....Ernst?" yelled Charlotte as she came out of her house, wondering what was going on.

Charlotte first came to Albert and led them both into the cellar and sat them down at the place where they first met. Ernst laid on the old sofa and slept there for a while.
