Chapter 37: Nothing Like Us

“I agree with you about Caroline,” Ella told me.

“You do? You don’t agree with Ben?”

She shook her head, “All she’s done so far is say she’s sorry. Saying sorry does nothing, but what does do something are your actions. All she did was call and then contact Ben when you didn’t answer.”

“I’m really glad somebody agrees with me. I can’t just run back to her like nothing happened. Besides, I’m not going home until Christmas break. We would have to work everything out over the phone and I don’t want to deal with the drama that would go with it. Things are good right now, aren’t they?”

She smiled, “They are.”

“Exactly! I’m not adding Caroline’s drama to it. If she wants to be friends again then she needs to prove it.”

“I agree. Don’t beat yourself up about it.”

“I’m trying not to, but it’s hard now that Ben is friends with her again.”

“I know, but get your mind off it. Where’s Justin taking you?”

“I don’t know actually, he didn’t say. It doesn’t really matter to me anyway, but I know he’s going to go all out and do something special.”

“He does seem like the type to do that.”

“He is so I’m really excited.”

“Are you meeting him soon?”

“Yeah,” I nodded, “He should be here any minute.”

She threw her bag over her shoulder, “Well I have to go because unlike you my class wasn’t cancelled today.”

I smiled, “Very funny. Have fun. I’ll see you tonight. You are going right?”

“Yeah,” She nodded, “I’m going. I’m bringing a few friends with me.”

“Awesome! See you there.”

“See ya.”

A few minutes later Justin appeared in my doorway.

“How’d you get into the dorm?” I stood up and asked him confused.

“I ran into Ella on her way out.”

“Oh, right.” I put my arms around his neck.

He put his hands on my hips, “I feel like I’ve been gone forever. I missed you.”

“I missed you too, a lot.”

“I’m sorry. Things are going to be busy now that my album is out.”
