Happy Journey

So today, like you know, I should have gotten ready in my costume by now and so am I. I stood in front of the mirror, putting on the button of my coat and a thought struck my head- Can I do this? All of a sudden for a few minutes, I lost my confidence about it and I started to doubt myself. I heard a knock on my door and I said,"Come in..."
It was my mother and she said,"Hey Benny! Oh.You are looking like a real gentleman in that suit of yours. Come down and have breakfast with me now and I can drop you to school and on the way to the airport". I was shocked and I said,"The airport? For what?"
My mom said,"Hey! Did you forget I was going to New York for two weeks on the business trip?"
I said,"Oh yeah! So when is your flight?"
"There is a flight from San Francisco to New York at 11:00am and I need to be there an hour early. So get ready quick".
I went down and saw that ma had made my favourite waffles for breakfast and I quickly stuffed 2 waffles into my mouth.
"Benny! Slowly. It is not like anyone will snatch them from you".
So I "slowly" had my breakfast and my feeling of nervousness had come down a little now and we got into the car. I was still feeling a little nervous yet and my mom could make that out.
"Benny, calm down. It's all right. You will do well. And since it is Jessica who is playing Portia, she is going to do a marvellous job".
"Wait, I only told you that a girl named Jessica is playing the role of Portia...does that mean you know her?!"
"You are talking about Jessica Heart na?"
"Yeah...."
" Hey silly, Jessica was in the same kindergarten as you and both of you used to be good friends and that is how I know Ms.Eileen, her mother".
"Oh...."
So the rest of the ride was filled with awkward silence and her name being taken itself was like a stress buster to me.I mean, is she magical or something-maybe coz every time I look at her, it gives me goosebumps and her eyes, they just teleport me into another universe filled with only rainbows, flowers and happiness, where there were no worries and sorrows. When I went near school, my mom said," Bye Benny and all the best and not to forget, here are our apartment keys".
"Why the apartment keys?"
"It is not so safe for you to stay alone at home for two weeks,Benny.
There will be security services at the apartments. So stay there".
[Oh, and to tell you-we used to live in an apartment before we moved into our home and the apartment still belongs to us.]
I took the keys from her and said,"Bye ma! Have a safe journey".
She drove away and I walked to school and I was thinking about whatever she told me. Were we in kindergarten together? Speak of the devil, ok not a devil but the angel and she is here. She looked enchanted in the red gown of hers and my heart nearly pounced out of my chest when I looked at her. Am I the only one who feels this way or does everyone else who have a crush feel the same way?
