The Maidens and Me

Chapter 19

(kailana's pov) I'm not one to socialize because no one really understands me. I'm a maiden and i control water, waves and the sea. I make the tide low or high, all that stuff. People see me as a wallflower so i just let that thought take over. I sat down on a log near a river and just watched it flow. I looked up and saw the sun rise. And i'm not sure if it were me but i'm pretty sure i saw someone floating in the air. I shook that off got up and brushed off moss from my skirt. I decided to make people's day better so i made it so that water could not hit me and with a downward swish of my hand it started to rain. As i turned i saw a house on this hill nearby so i decided to check it out. I walked up towards it and heard girls voices. I knocked on the door and faked that i was looking for a place to stay so i walked up to the door and knocked. Then i heard "I'll get it" then a girl with long brown hair opened the door and said "hi what can i do for you" "Is it Delilah?" "no what's your name?" "My name is anna and i was wondering if i can stay here." "OH yeah the rain sure is pouring down" "Here let me help" i snapped my fingers and the rain went to puring to showering to nothing "Your a maiden? I didn't think I've heard about the Maiden of the sea before? My name is Olive, come on in" I walked in and was directed to the living room and the girls turned towards me "Whos this?" "Her name is anna and she is a  maiden, the daughter of the sea maiden" "Holy crap really?" said a girl with wavy blonde hair. "My name is brooke and that's thea, north, and Connie. And you know Olive." *Time skip*after meeting everyone I went up to my new room. Then after unpacking my travel bag, I decide to go out and explore the town. I was walking down the sidewalk and found a (unfortunately) man made but good quality pond so I sat next to it it was up to my knees so I dipped my feet in. Then I was tapped on the shoulder looked up and there was a environmentalist behind me saying "um excuse me ma'am that is a community pond and very dirty with your feet" she emphasized feet "ok," I say disappointed. I dry off my feet and put on my shoes to get up then walk a little further. Now listen if you think I am a person who has no job, money, or anything like that. I do I'm just not bragging about the thousand of dollars in my wallet and how I am co manager in the BySea aquarium and center. Well to late now. I got up and grabbed a caramel frozen coffee and walked out leaving to the ringing of the bells on the door. As i was walking down the sidewalk i noticed a tall handsome man walking towards me I looked down hoping he wouldn't see me stare. And being so distracted i tripped on a crack in the sidewalk and dropped my coffee, while about to fall yet someone stopped my fall and it was the guy i saw walking toward me. "Than-oh shit my coffee." i swore picking up the empty cup and saw a stain on my skirt. "I can buy you another one, if you don't mind" "Really? But you don't even know me?" I say shocked "Of course i will now how about you clean that up and i will be right back" I walked to the ladies room and washed off the coffee stain. Luckily because it was not that long ago. I walked out and the guy was waiting there coffee in hand. "Thank you. I don't think i got your name? IM anna" "Well anna my name is lucas" he handed me the coffee and said "So where are you from?" we walked through the park path "Me oh well i'm originally from newport ri, but i moved here about a 3 weeks ago." "Oh nice so you like the water?" "Definitely, it's as if i have it coursing through my veins" i say trying to hide the secret. "You even smell like the ocean, like the salty air and water smell? You know what i mean?" "Im a maide-i mean yeah i get it" "Oh ok i thought that's what you meant, your a maiden. That's cool" we started walking towards the hill. "So you could tell?"  "Yes the smell and comment about water in your veins" lucas said "wow ok well so what about you?" i ask curiously "Well i was born to a rich family but never really followed in there money greedy selfish footsteps so i left and moved here about the same time you did" "ok that's cool" I looked up and realized we were there at the door "huh i didn't even realize we were at the door" "Well i guess this is goodbye." he says "Ok well maybe we can meet up again" "Sure i live in that red house on park street" he says walking back down the hill.
