The Maidens and Me

Chapter 22

(Elton's POV) I wanted to take a walk in the park and feel the winter breeze that was in the air. I saw the same maiden from last night. She was making snow and putting in under the trees. I step closer and accidentally step on a stick. She heard it and took off. I didn't chase after her. I run to a store and pick up some flowers and put them in the snow. I climb a tree and wait for her to come back. An hour later she came back and looked at the flowers. I watched as she took them out and applied frost to them. She planted them in the ground and then she suddenly changed to a different form. She grew a longer coat and it sparked just like her eyes. I fell out of the tree and onto the ground. " Oh hello there" said the Maiden. " I'm so sorry for dropping in" I said laughing. " it's alright I didn't know I could change forms" said the maiden. " You look so pretty in that form" I said touching her sleeve. It felt frozen and I pulled her closer into me. " Um I don't think you should be doing that" said the maiden. She pulled away and ran out of the park leaving a trial of snow and ice behind. I pick up one of the flowers and keep it in my jacket. She looked so lovely but I ruined my chances and I hope I didn't mess her up. I said sadly walking away. I suddenly fell to the ground, my leg was stuck in some ice. I couldn't move it. I look at the flower and the ice and frost surround me. What the hell I said to myself. The ice started to cover my arms and then went to my neck. " Help" I screamed.  No one saw me turning into ice I slowly stopped breathing. " Oh god are you ok" yelled the maiden. " what have I done" cried the maiden. She put her arms around me as I closed my eyes. ( North's POV) The boy was frozen in my ice, I need to fix this somehow. I tried to break the ice but I couldn't break it open, he was stuck in ice forever. " THEA" I yelled at the top of my lungs.  Then suddenly she appeared right in front of me. " My sister what did you do to this poor boy" she asked. " I froze him in ice and I think he's dead" I said crying. " Let me try to melt him so he can be free" said Thea, she backed up and shot fire from her hands. Her eyes started to glow bright and she changed into her maiden form for the first time. " Thea you unlocked your  maiden form" I yelled in shock. " Oh my god I did" she yelled as she continued to melt the ice. "He's coming back alive -" " North STOP" screamed Thea. I got blasted with heat and got flung to the fence. " North are you ok" said Thea crying. I felt my fingers starting to disintegrate. " Thea help me" I yelled " I got your back" screamed Thea. she picked me up and then dropped me back down. " I can't carry you I'm so sorry" cried Thea. I looked at my legs and they were disappearing, I was dying because my body can't heal this much damage. I closed my eyes and felt myself lose control and become nothing. ( Thea's POV) I watched as North disintegrate into a white ball. I broke down in tears " No she can't be dead no please" I screamed as a cried. " My child why must you weep"  said the white ball. " What North are you still here" I cried. " No child the winter maiden is dead because of you, I am the guardian of winter itself " " So you can bring her back to life right even though I shot her with fire by accident" I asked. " No I can't bring her back but you can reborn a new maiden of winter to take her place, if you don't then this world will be unbalanced"  " Fine I will reborn a new winter maiden" I said standing up. The white ball turned into a crystal. " Just give me to a child of a young age and you will have to guide them to their power, from there I will do the rest I bit you good travel my child"  I fell to the ground and felt so bad for killing my friend. I must do what the guardian told me to do for North. I ran over the the boy that was half melted.  I kept on melting him so he could be free. " Are you alright please tell me you're ok" I asked as my heart started to race. No response, I tried to give him CPR but with no luck. " WHAT THE FUCK" I screamed. " No I can't lose more people today I won't let this poor boy die on me" I said as I picked him up and ran to the hospital. " You won't die as long as I may live" I yelled. When we got to the hospital I had to tell them a lie so I wouldn't say that I was a maiden. They took him from my arms and into a room. "Excuse me but I have to leave tell me if he wakes up" I said to the nurse. I ran out of there and down the street. I stopped by a foster care center. " Hi I would like to apply for adoption" I asked the lady at the front desk. "Well you would have to take a course for two weeks to see if your able to adopt a child" said the lady. " How old are you sweetheart" asked the lady. " I'm 17" I said clearing my throat. " Well hunn your younger than 18 so I'm sorry you can't adopt any children" said the lady. " Please I need a young child, I want to protect him/her with my life" I said starting to cry again. " Look I understand that you want to care for a child but you are too young" said the lady. " please I beg you, my friend just died and I want a child to feel my love and life with" I asked. " You can care for a child but I won't let you adopt this child until you are 18" said the lady. " Come back tomorrow there will be an adoption fair and all the children will be there you write down a child you wish to care for" said the lady. " Thank you so much" I said wiping my tears from my cheeks. I was so happy that I would get to care for the new winter maiden. I felt so gifted to have this chance to have a child but the cost of my friend North because of my mistake.
