Chapter 18

( Bryce's POV) " Why don't we go home now" I said with a smile. " Alright that sounds better than being in this lawn all night" said Archer.  " Hey what is up with Delilah" asked Acher. " She just isn't doing well with her friends right now" I said. * Time Skip* When we got home after a long walk. I saw some flames in the backyard. I walked to the backyard and gave Archer the house keys. I walked into the backyard and saw Delilah laying on the grass. " Hey Delilah" I said in a soft tone. " Hi Bryce" she said in a sad tone. I hugged her tightly. " Did you calm down now" I asked. " It took me awhile and yeah I did" said Delilah. " That's nice to hear that you are better" I said releasing from the hug. She got up off the ground and walked inside. " Are you sleeping here" I asked. " No just getting some food then I am gonna sleep outside" said Delilah. I walked upstairs and changed my clothes. Then I heard a bang from downstairs. I ran down the stairs and saw Delilah on the ground crying. " What in the world happened" I asked. " I I cut my finger off from that knife" said Delilah. " You finger it's a red hot fire ball" I said grabbing some ice. " That's no gonna help babe I am 107 degrees" said Delilah. " I have to cool your finger down" I said. " The cut was pretty deep so you are gonna half to hurry before I get any hotter" said Delilah in a panic. I grabbed a ton of ice and put it in a bowl. " Here hun this will cool you down" I said with hope. She put her finger in the ice and it started to look normal. " Thank you Bryce" said Delilah. " You shouldn't use sharp objects anymore" I said. " Yeah because my blood is fire" said Delilah. " Now I am thinking you should sleep here with that ice bowl" I said. " You are right I should do that so I don't burn up on the streets" said Delilah with a smile. I cleared a space in the living room and put the ice bowl next to the couch. " You are gonna be ok as long as I am here with you" I said holding her hand. She looked at me then went to the couch to rest her head. I kissed her on  her lips and walked away. Now for my brother. I walked all the way to his room and found him pass out. Well at least he isn't vaping anymore. I picked him up and put him in his bed. I should go to bed now after what happened today. I went downstairs and added more ice to the bowl because the ice in there was melting from the heat of her finger. I felt so bad for all the maidens because their blood isn't real blood it's made up of different things. She looked at me with sleepy eyes. " Bryce can you sleep next to me please" asked Delilah. " I sure can baby" I said getting onto the ground and putting a pillow next to me. " You are gonna be here all night right" asked Delilah. " I won't leave your side" I said watching her close her eyes.  She always looked so cute when she was sleeping. I lowered my body down and closed my eyes. In my mind all I could see was fire and it felt like I was in Delilah's head. I  felt like I could see through her eyes. I opened my eyes and saw that she was still sleeping. I must be dreaming again because I can't be a maiden. I fell back asleep and didn't think about it. * Time Skip* When I woke up I saw that Delilah was in the same spot but all the ice was gone. I lifted her hand and it was back to the normal temp. I got up and grabbed something to put on the cut. Then I applied a bandage. She woke up and saw that I wasn't going anywhere. " Hey what are you doing to my finger" asked Delilah. "  I am trying to make it not go everywhere so I put a bandage on your finger" I said. " Hun you do know that I can heal myself now because I am not overheated" said Delilah laughing. I removed the bandage and watched her fire cover up the cut and it looked normal. " You are really something you know that" I said in shock. " I guess but I try to act like any other girl" said Delilah. " You should stop trying and just be you and only you" I said. " I have to raise the sun now so I will be right back" said Delilah changing into her maiden form. I watched her go outside and float up for a moment and close her eyes. I looked up and saw the sun beginning to rise from the mountains. " So cool" I said shocked.
