Title: Emily

Author: Mazera

Genre: Teen Fiction

Summary: This is a diary of a sixteen year old girl named Emily who suffers from a rare genetic condition. The only thing that emily wants is to be a normal teenager. Will she ever come to terms with her condition and accept the way she was born? This diary is a roller coaster of feelings that will make you look at life in trough a different perspective.

My view:

So when I first had a little looksie at this, I found it to be quite amusing. It’s not the in-depth, totally honest, kind of depressing diary like I myself keep, instead it’s upbeat and quite amusing.

I found that the characters voice is honest and funny, without straining to be funny. It’s not the funniest thing I’ve read, but I find it funny because it’s like a real person.

All too often I come across stories on Wattpad where the characters are all sassy and brilliant with come-backs, not to mention fantastic and confident overall.

Instead, this character is one that we can associate well with because she’s like a living breathing person with flaws like you and me, whilst remaining just out of reach.

Her condition itself makes you feel sorry for this main character and what she has to deal with – and what she can expect later on in life. It’s awfully sad and again it adds to the characters realism.

The author’s writing herself, although the characters voice is natural and entertaining, the further oyu go into the story, the more it makes you want to cry and sob. The author seems to convey emotions perfectly and the story itself, despite how sad it is, all you can hope for is that things end well for the unfortunate MC.

In all honesty, I think that it could use a little re-shaping. It needs a little more oomph to it. The diary entres are short and abrupt and need to be longer and more fufilling. That's my only true problem with this Wattpad story.

Out of ten? Six.
