"Oh. My. Aah!" I screamed, rolling the side as a shot of pure darkness came flying at me. Hua laughed and held his arms high.

"You wouldn't think it, would you? That the Emperor was the world's strongest Changer!"

"But you're not the world's strongest! I am, apparently. You can't even summon a light dragon, let alone one as amazing as Ai."

"You really don't know anything about Changers, do you? The order isn't dark, light, four-element. It's dark, light, mega dark, mega light, four-element. Light and dark are the only ones with mega forms and you're looking at the mega dark dragon. You think your measly four-element can defeat him?"

"If the four-element is higher on the rarity and power scale, then I believe so. Even if Ai wasn't at the top, he could still beat you with his eyes closed!"

"Care to take that bet?"

I swallowed a lump in my throat. "No."

"I'm an insane. Did you know that?"

"Yeah, I figured that one out on my own."

"So, only a truly insane person would toss their Changer daughter away."

"Don't say what I think you're going to say."

He got his dragon to lower him so he stood right in front of me. "Ming, I knew what you were even before you did. I sent you to live with who I did because I knew, eventually, that he would bring out enough emotion in you to unlock your abilities. He would push you to your very limits."

"You wanted to marry me? When you're-"

"I'm not your father, Ming. I told, I'm only twenty. But, I was a very smart four-year-old."

"I'm sure you were."

"I was. I was ruling China at age four, with some help."

"With lots of help, more like." I scoffed.

"As I was saying, I chose to put you where I did for a reason. Your master would bring out the power inside. I didn't know how much power you had, though. And I miscalculated how many years it had been since the last four-element died."

"Died?"

"Dragons can live for thousands of years. Since there is only ever one four-element every thousand years, it's calculated from the year one dies to the year the next is Summoned."

"Oh. Right."

"But I miscalculated. I thought there was still another year before the next one would come. Which is why I was so reluctant to believe you in the cells-"

I chose that moment to cough very loudly.

"And why I didn't realise straight away what he was. I believed him to be only a three-element, and Huang reported him to only have three elements."

"How would Huang know? The only time Ai attacked him was... Was when he used all of the elements in one blast."

"Huang knew he had four elements? Why didn't he tell me?"

"Maybe he's disloyal."

"No. He must have been trying to protect me or something. He's the most loyal one of my men."

"Probably not. He probably wa-" I cried out as Hua spun his leg around, kicking me in the stomach and knocking me to the ground.

"It would be wise not to talk about him like that." He waved his dragon down. It landed with a boom and opened its mouth, roaring right in my face.

"Back off, Char. She might be a brat, but she's still my sister."
