Chapter 22 - Unaware

Hey guys! Seriously oh my god I haven't update for more than a week I think and I was tearing my hair out. It's not that I've been busy, it's just that I'm incredulously lazy. God help me.... Anyway here is the next chapter, but unfortunately it is the second to last one.

Eren P.O.V

My head still lay on Levi's unmoving chest for 10 minutes before the doctors came in to check on him. When they ran in the room I lifted my head and stood in front of Levi, protecting him.

"IT'S TOO LATE!! TOO FUCKING LATE!! HOW CAN YOU LET HIM DIE?! HOW?!!!?" I screamed at them. "I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU CAN CALL YOURSELVES DOCTORS, YOU PIECES OF SHIT!" I clenched my fists, my nails digging into my sweaty palms. Mikasa, Armin, and Uncle came running into the room, but before they could get a hold of me I ran. I shoving through the doctors I ran out into the hallway. My vison was blurry and I couldn't run straight. I smacked into oxygen tanks and empty beds in the hallway but didn't even feel the pain. I could hear my feet slapping against the varnished floor, but I could hear someone else's aswell.

"Eren, wait!!" Mikasa yelled after me, trying to catch up. "They are going to try and revive him!!"

I stopped in my tracks and Mikasa ran into my back.

"It's too late.." I growled, balling my fists again. "THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING NOW!! HE IS GONE, MIKASA. GONE!!" I screamed in her face and she flinched slightly.

"Eren.." She looked up at me with tearful eyes.

"NO. Mikasa... just... no." I croaked, pushing her away as she tried to hug me. I turned once again and ran to the door slamming it open.

"Where are you going?!" Mikasa shouted at me as I ran out the hospital doors.

"TOO HELL!" I shouted back. As I ran down the street I began to regret what I had said to Mikasa. 'I'm a fucking disappointment. I was all a mistake. Mum always wanted a girl. And now she has Mikasa. I'm a waste of space..' I cruely insulted myself in my head, whilst I ran back to the flat. 'I have no reason to live now Levi's gone. None.' I didn't notice Mikasa chasing after me as I kicked down our front door and locked myself in the bathroom. I slid down the door panting, fresh tears running down my face. 'That is fucking it.' I thought angrily, standing up and gripping the sink for support. I looked at myself in the mirror and scoffed. 'Waste of space...' Black rings circled my eyes and my hair was all messed up.  I could hear pounding on the door.

"EREN, OPEN THE DOOR!!" Mikasa yelled at me, pounding her fist on the hard wood.

I reached for the cupboard door and opened it, fumbling around for the thing that would erase me... I wanted to be with Levi... I grabbed hold of a razor and stared at the shiny blade, as Mikasa continued to pound and scream through the door. 'No-one will miss me anyway... I hate this goddamned world. The only thing that made my life worth living was Levi... And Mikasa, and Uncle, and Armin... NO. I can't let them get to me... there is no way I could live without Levi. I would be in a depressed state forever.' I brought the razor to my pale skin and sliced. A clean five cuts were now gouged deep in my arm as it started squirting blood. My blood sprayed onto the mirror and the walls as I cut more, deeper each time. Soon I was hysterically laughing as my vision started to go white.

"EREN?!!!!!?!!! OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR!!"

'This last one will do it..' I roughly dragged the blade up my arm, all the way to the crease of my elbow. Blood was now spraying everywhere, including my own face. My sight was completely demolished, as my head started to fill with white. I smiled to myself and I dropped to my knees, taking my final breaths. 'I'm coming Levi....'

Thump.

"EREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Levi P.O.V

The room around me was pure white, I used my arms to lift myself up slightly as I looked around the empty space. 'Where am I?' I squinted my eyes trying to get used to the light, when I saw a figure walking towards me.

"E-Eren? Is that you?" I shouted out to the person. The person came into view and my eyes widened. My heart sped up like a rocket.

"KOU!!!" I screamed, jumping up from the floor and running to him. He greeted me with a smile. One of his special ones, the ones that spoke a thousand words, and embraced me. I hugged him as tight as I could, bawling into his shirt. "Kouuuu, Kouuu!!!" I cried as he gripped me firmly, burying his face in my hair.

"Levi.. What are you doing here?" He pushed my shoulders back making me face him. Tears ran down my face and he gently rubbed them away with his thumb.

"I-I...." Kou patiently stood in front of me slowly stroking my cheek as he waited for me to answer. "I, killed myself..." I admit that I was really ashamed of myself, and I lowered my head. Kou lifted my head back up with his index finger and thumb.

"Why?" Kou's eyes shone with sympathy and guilt.

"I- I m-missed you and wanted you b-back." I stuttered. Kou looked down on me with disappointment, but some how it didn't effect me. He was always a soft touch when he was alive.

He tutted at me and tapped my nose with his finger.

"Baka." He chuckled slightly.

"I know.. I don't know what to do! I really wish I could see Eren again, but it's too late now..." Kou sighed as I babbled on about Eren and how 'I wished I hadn't killed myself.' Once he got bored he put a finger on my lips to shush me.

"Levi... Just go back then." He shrugged.

"I-I can do that?"

"Yup." He smiled.

"Then why didn't you?" I looked up at him as more tears started to gather.

"Because my condition was fatal, and I was unable to return." He gave me a strained smile before pulling me into another hug. "Go back Levi. I don't mind."

"Are you sure?" I mumbled into his shirt.

"I'm sure."

"Thanks, Bro."

"No problem."

Suddenly Kou started to fade.

"What's happening?!" I asked, as my hands started to go through him like a ghost.

"You're going back."

"But-"

"Don't worry, Levi. I'll wait for you." He smiled at me for the last time and waved as he completely disappeared before me. I raised my hand slightly to wave back, staring at where he once stood.

"Goodbye again, Kou.." I turned on my heel and slowly walked towards like bright light in front of me, ocasionally looking back. Suddenly the white light disappeared and I woke up in the hospital bed. I gasped and sat up quickly, The needles in my arms threatening to come out. There were at least BY doctors in the room, one of them was hovering over my face.

"He's alive!!!!!!" All the doctors cheered. I didn't give a shit. I was going to find Eren.

"Move." I pushed the doctors face away and unplugged myself.

"What do you think you're doing?" One of the nurses hollered at me.

"Going." I gave her a famous Levi glare before running out the room.

I dodged past the people passing by and ran out the hospital doors barefoot. 'I'm coming Eren!' I smiled to myself, as I sprinted in direction of his house. Unaware of what I was about to see.

Unaware of what I was about to feel.
