Song for the chapter: All Alright by Fun.
_________"Lizzy. Lizzy, wake up." A soft voice, and a touch came from next to me.
I swatted lightly, but opened my eyes. Coraline was sitting on the edge of our shared motel bed. She had her bed head, and the same sweatpants and sweater on. Her eyes were still waking up, but she seemed like she was wide awake.
"Cora, how long have you been up?" I asked, yawning, and rubbing my eyes.
She shrugged, "A few hours. I couldn't get much sleep."
I pulled myself from my laying position to a sitting one. I sighed, "We can go get breakfast. Go get showered up."
She nodded, walking to the bathroom. I frowned when the door closed. How were we really gonna make this? She could end up with an even more broken home, and I could end up hurt with nothing left.
______________
After Coraline got out of the shower, I hopped in. I took a quick one, but lathered myself in the body wash to rid myself of the smoke scent. After getting out, I wrapped a towel around myself, and walked into the main room. I opened the duffel I hauled in last night, and grabbed a pair of shorts, a Guns 'N' Roses tee shirt, and a pair of socks. Not missing the bra and panties, I slipped everything on, and wrapped the towel around my hair.
"Twenty minutes, and we'll head out." I told Coraline.
She nodded. I grabbed my makeup bag from the rushed duffel, and took it to the bathroom. I pulled out a little bit of the essential makeup. Eyeliner, little bit of eyeshadow, blush, and mascara. The little routine I did was finished, and I took my hair out. Brushing out the knots wasn't as bad as usual, but it wasn't easy. I pulled it into a french braid, and tied it.
I set my makeup in the duffel, and grabbed my purse. I slipped on my comfy tennis shoes, and we both walked out to my car.
____________
The scent of coffee, fresh breakfast, and morning flowed through my nostrils. Coraline and I walked to our usual seat in the small cafe mom used to take us to. The usual waitress came to our table, and had a solemn look masking her usually happy face.
"I'm sorry for your loss... Breakfast on me." A small smile parted at her lips.
I nodded, "Just the usual, Wanda. Thanks."
Wanda walked back over behind the counter to the chef window. The order spun on the thing, and Wanda went to other customers.
After a few minutes of silence, Coraline made an awkward cough. I looked up from the now interesting table spot. Her eyes darted over to another table. I slightly turned my head to the table. It was Sam and Dean. They didn't have their suits on... Sam had a button up, a pair of jeans, and steel toe boots. Dean had a Bon Jovi tee shirt, flannel, ripped jeans, and steel toed boots. I cocked my head a little. Why the sudden change in clothing? Hm... I guess it's a 'day off' because they were looking though files and looking confused about something. I raised my eyebrow, but quickly looked away as Dean stared straight at me with a smirk. Was that like plastered to his face or something? Because it was pretty damn annoying for an FBI agent to have a smirk.
"Lizzy..." Coraline whispered.
"Why are we whispering?" I whispered back.
She coughed, and her eyes darted upwards. I followed the direction of her eyes, and jumped a little at what I saw. Sam and Dean were standing there, arms crossed, and eyebrows raised.
"Uh. Can I help you agents?" I asked, not keeping eye contact.
A short chuckle came from Dean, "Scooch, Sweetheart."
