Song for the chapter: Where Did the Party Go? By Fall Out Boy
_________

After a long drive to Michigan, the boys and I got checked into another motel. It wasn't too bad... I liked Dean's taste in music, and he liked a select few I could play... One Fall Out Boy song I played, he looked at me and asked, "What the fuck is this?"

Sam liked it... Which was funny. I thought he would've been like his brother. But, he's actually completely different. I felt bad for the guy though. After losing his mother as a baby, twenty plus years later, he lost his girlfriend the same way. I honestly felt like crying for him, but I know he was strong.

After a few minutes, Dean decided it would be smart to go to a bar... Seeming how I was 18, I couldn't go, but Dean decided it would be a good idea. So, instead of staying like a good child with Sammy, I went with Dean.

The bar smelt like alcohol-obviously- and cigarettes. I scoffed, and sat next to Dean on a bar stool.

"So, what'dyou want to drink?" A bartender looked at us. She held two glasses in her hand, both empty.

"Tequila. What about you, Elizabeth?" Dean slightly turned his head to me, with a smirk.

I looked at the lady, "Uh... Whiskey?"

Dean raised his eyebrows, but the bartender just did what she did. I felt Dean's eyes on me as we waited. In a few seconds, his eyes were off of me, and our drinks were in front of us. I slowly sipped mine, trying not to let out noises of happiness. I favored whiskey more than any other drink. Which was surprising... Considering most people my age prefer cheap vodka, and kegs of beer.

"Whiskey, huh?" Dean said, interrupting my thoughts.

I nodded, and looked down at the glass, "Yeah."

Dean groaned, "I'm trying to make conversation, here. You're not helping."

Chuckling, I took another sip of the whiskey, "I'm sorry, Mister, 'I need pie.'"

Dean full on looked at me, his eyes hardened, "Do you have something against pie?"

I shook my head, a smirk on my face. I knew, from the stories Sam told me, that I struck a cord. Nobody messes with Dean's pie.

Dean scoffed and rolled his eyes, "You're so weird."

I scoffed back, and spoke sarcastically, "I'm the weird one?" In a whisper, I spoke again, "You hunt monsters, and save people you don't know. Yup, I'm totally the weird one."

For a few minutes, Dean and I sat in silence. Well, aside from the bar being full, the two of us didn't talk. Occasionally, the bartender would refill Dean's drink. I decided once glass was fine.

"Hobbies?"

I looked away from my empty cup. "What?"

"What are your hobbies, Kid," Dean asked, looking at me.

I was fairly surprised he actually asked me something. The entire car ride here, I was asking about their past and their interests, etcetera. Now, I was put on the spot. Turning away, I thought for a moment. I had no idea waht I was going to tell the eldest Winchester. I wasn't really doing anything. I had no free time. Between my Advanced Placement classes, I really had no time for myself.

For another moment, I thought back to the first thing Coraline's dad tought me before he left. "Paint. I like to, uh, paint."

Dean looked at me with an odd expression, "Paint? That's it?"

I blushed, but looked back to Dean, "I never really had free time to do anything for myself. Between my AP classes, taking care of Coraline, and rarely sleeping, I never had time to do anything else. The few times I did paint, I was younger... Fourteen maybe. That was the last time I ever did paint. And now, I have nothing really to do... Maybe I'll do it again. Or maybe I'll just help you. I don't know anymore." Dean stopped mid-sip of his drink, and looked at me. He had a look in his eyes that said he felt sorry for me, "I know it sounds horrible, but you two really had it bad. Yes, my step-dad left us after Coraline was born, but nobody died."

Another silence engulfed us. I laughed a little. I remembered the lie I told Dean the day we talked in the diner. I told him Jace was a family friend. I was debating on whether or not to tell him the truth. Or just leave it alone. Lying wasn't really one of my strong suits, so I felt guilt.

I guess I felt guilty for doing a lot of things. Or letting my little sister down, and letting someone murder her.

"You okay, Liza?" Dean asked, using a new name.

I looked at him, "I'm okay." Another lie. "Just tired. I'm gonna head back to the motel."

________

A few days passed, and the boys had talked to a few of the suspects... Which, over time, ended up in a grave. I decided against lying about my identity for now. I mean, it sounds fun, but while they were gone, I had my alone time.

Over the last few days, both Sam and Dean taught me a few tricks. They taught me some knife skills, and gun skills. Dean gave me one of his pistols, which was surprising to Sam. I guess he trusted me?

I got dressed for the day. The two brothers went to the coroner's to check out a new body, and I was in the motel. The choice was a baggy FOB tee, and a pair of skinny jeans. My black combat boots tied and ready, I walked out of the motel room. The mid day chill was still in the air. Surprising? Nope.

A small cafe just ahead of me seemed appealing, so I decided on actually stopping by for some grub. Wow.. Maybe Dean is rubbing off on me. His terminology is catchy.

Walking in, the scent of grease and fresh fries wafted to my nostrils. I seated myself, and soon enough someone had coffee at the table, and was taking my order. I guess the lunch rush was coming in. Noises were louder than you'd think would be usual. I guess not though.

After eating, I just sat at my table, sipping more coffee. I started to think about Coraline. Her bright smile, and dark eyes. Coraline was always the top in her class... Me? Nope. I was average. Well, not my generations SWAG Fag, but average B+ grades. But Coraline got the smarts, while I got the average... I guess. She was always a problem solver, but this time, I guess we couldn't solve it. It ended with death... And lots of pain.

How could I let it happen? Was the only thing I thought about. How could I let it happen? She was so innocent, and young. I couldn't believe it. The one thing she wouldn't want me to do, I was doing. Crying. Coraline was always selfless. I guess I shouldn't cry.. But, I think it's too hard to stop.

"Are you okay?" A deep male voice pushed Coraline's memory away.

I looked up, seeing Sam. I gave a fake smile, "I'm fine."

Sam's face turned sad, "That's not what the tears are showing."

I widened my eyes, and wiped the wetness from my eyes. I looked down again, but Sam sat across from me.

"So, we figured out a few things." Sam started, "Dean's at the bar, but that's beside the point. The thing that's committing the murders, it's not one thing... It's many." He paused, "You know how it started with the guy that was run over by the car in his apartment?"

"Yeah," I nodded.

"Well, get this," Sam made sure nobody was listening, "Mathew Hannons... He ran over a ten year old girl- Elizabeth Duran. There was also red dirt on the floor by the scene, and the guy had been sober for ten years. Dean and I may or may not have to go burn the bones."

"So, the dude killed a kid, and now the kid's ghost is after him, but in a car?" I looked back at Sam, "That doesn't make sense. I wouldn't think a ghost has a license... To kill."

Sam smirked, "Dean made that same analogy. Anyway, we should head back to the motel. See if anything new happens, and go burn some bones."

I nodded, leaving the money needed to pay the bill.

I guess the boys had a busy day, while mine was the laziest.
