Fluttering my eyes open I try to adjust to the bright white light bringing confusion for a few minutes until everything comes back. I jump out of the bed in a panic only to feel slight pain, less than before but still there. I walk around the room to find a way out I go straight to the window. I throw a chair at it I crunch down waiting for the sound of shattered glass coming down but it never comes. I look up to see the window completely intact, guess I'm not the first wolf to try to break out. I smell the scent of the strawberries again before the door opens giving me time to run to the corner of the room to be away from the stranger yet my soulmate for life.

"Finally you're awake" he raises and drops his arms.

"Excuse me" I say still at the opposite side of the room not wanting to be near him especially with the way he's acting but my wolf is fighting me trying to be close to him because apparently, the moon goddess thought he was a good choice as our mate and excitement isn't what I'm feeling as this is all playing out.

"It took you long enough" he sits down on the chair next to the bed putting his feet up on the hospital bed.

"It's not my fault your pack almost beat me to death and put a silver knife through my chest" I scoff.

"Well, you crossed the boundaries" he counters.

"Also not my fault I was being chased... never mind" I exhale putting my hand over my head walking closer to the bed, why? I don't know.

"Who was chasing you?" his hazel eyes turn into these beautiful golden ones, guess that's his wolfs eyes but why is he resurfacing. A wolf true eyes show when our emotions are extreme like anger, joy, jealousy, sadness, etc.

"No one, what happens now?" changing the subject makes his eyes go back to normal.

"I'm glad you asked" he takes his feet off the bed and starts to walk over to me as I back away.

"You will stay here and be my luna" he orders as he is inches away from me.

"I will do no such thing" I move around him giving us some space, in different circumstances I might agree because that is what is supposed to happen but with his attitude, it makes it hard to.

"Oh but you have to, you see I couldn't become Alpha to my pack until I found my mate and now that I did you will stay here to not jeopardize my chance" he stays where he is.

"That's not my problem" I cross my arms over my chest.

"You and I both know we can't live without each other, that pull and passion your feeling that's our wolf's disagreeing with what we're doing. She wants to stay here with mine as much as mine what's yours to stay here with him" He moves closer again and this time I can't move and my heartbeat starts to quicken because what he is saying is absolutely true and it scares me.

"Yeah well I'm in control not her and I won't let her make us stay here just so you can boss me around" I cough and walk over to the door.

"I didn't want to do this but you leave me no choice, if you don't stay I will gather my warriors and we will attack your pack right now especially your family" I stop and gasp, even if my pack puts up a fight there is no way my parents will be unharmed if they are being targeted even though we don't have the best relationship I would never let anything or anyone hurt them if I can prevent it. I turn around and see him smirk.

"You're an ass" I scoff

"Noted, now what would it be?"

"I'll stay" I sigh in defeat not liking one word that came out of my mouth.

"Great! Now come on let's get out of here to the pack house to get you ready" He clasps his hands together opening the door.

"Ready, ready for what?" I don't even oppose going to his place since I'll have to stay here and I won't have a place to live.

"Well like I told you because you're here I'm being named the new Alpha of this pack and you need to be there to show how much of a lovely couple we are"

"Lovely couple?" I snorted.

"As far as my parents and the pack knows we are in love and that is an image we need to keep in order for me to keep being Alpha"

"Why does that matter?" I ask no understanding why I'm the key for him opening the door to his life as an Alpha, I've seen plenty of Alphas without their mates.

"Because my dad loves being Alpha and made every possible excuse for me not to be one for example, 'you have to finish your training', 'you have to be 24' and the last one he came up with as soon as I turned 24 was that I had to find my mate. Now that you're here I don't want to jeopardize my chance of being Alpha just because 'we can't get along'" he explains as we walk through his apartment, throughout the conversation getting out the infirmary. I, of course, was getting looks by the people.

I noticed how different this pack house is from the one from my pack, this one is so much bigger and better decorated. From his explanation I can tell his relationship with his father isn't great, now there is something we have in common.

"When is it?" he turns back eyes widening probably expecting me to argue.

"Tomorrow at night around 9" I look over to the clock on the kitchen wall to see its 10:00 p.m.

"Well I don't have any of my stuff" I point out he walks around the living room a little probably to think. Am I going to have to buy new clothes?

"Tomorrow morning we'll go to your pack and get your stuff" I'm stunned at his suggestions well order.

"Why do you always have to say everything in as an order," I ask frustrated not liking it, I already had that growing up apart from absent parents and I don't need it with my mate as well.

"Well because you will do as I say" I start to laugh grabbing onto my stomach in the process.

"And what makes you think I will obey" I challenged.

"Because I'm the Alpa and your mate that should be reason enough" he answers angrily.

"Okay let's get a couple of things straight, you're not my Alpha and as you being my mate, yes sadly you are if you expected me to be somebody that will easily be bossed around or obey your 'commands' just because you say so you're going to have a rude awakening... now, where is my room" he growls pointing at my room and I turn around not giving him a chance to speak leaving him alone in the living room. As I close the door and I hear glass shatter, great I have a short-tempered wolf as my mate.

One of the nurses in the infirmary gave me a shirt and shorts my size and also that wasn't bloody. I look around the room to see that my bed is sideways against the wall with the window just above it. To the left there is a door to the bathroom next to it there is another door for the closet.

I go to the bathroom and for the first time since this morning, I look at myself in the mirror. Gladly my face is untouched but my wrists are bandaged from the burns, I lift my shirt to see claw marks from their scratches when I was fighting back.

The wolf that bit my neck didn't go deep enough to leave a mark because those are nowhere to be found. I get out of the bathroom after I take a shower, I have no choice but to put on the same clothes. I go over to the door to see if I can hear footsteps. I go over to the bed feeling exhausted with all I had to go through today only to realize what a big change my life will become.
