We go back to the hospital after we wake up and we stay there for a couple of hours to spend time with them before we left. As we drive back we both get mind-linked telling us that there is an attack at the pack. We look at each other in worry before William pushes on the gas pedal making us go faster.

From the car, we can see the warriors fighting against the group of people some transformed and others as men and women. As we start to run over to the group to try and break the fight, I turn my head to the side and see one our men on the floor on the brink of death with a man from the attacking side standing over him about to rip his throat.

Without thinking I run over to the scene, I hear William behind me yelling my name telling me to stop but I keep running and since they both haven't seen me I am able to take down the male who was about to kill one of my own. Before he can get up I go and stand up in front of the man on the floor trying to protect him. The outsider tries to come at me but William stands in front of me and growls at all of them making them stop even the attackers.

"Don't you dare lay a hand on her?" he growls holding onto my hand but looking forward. One person from the group steps forward.

"Ah! I take it you're the Alpha, finally, we've been trying to reach you so we can have a chat"

"If that's your intention then why attack my pack" William argues and the guy smiles.

"I thought it would get your attention" I growl at his response and I turn around to help the guy behind me.

"and this would be your mate, the Luna," I tell one of the warriors to take the man to the infirmary and he says thank you before they walk off. I then walk over next to William and cross my arms as I look at this mysterious guy.

"You obviously got our attention but why in the hell were one of your men about to kill one of ours" his smile widens making me feel uneasy.

"We can discuss the reason to that in private" he looks at both of us. I turn to William and he nods and tells one of the warriors to escort them to the meeting room telling them we would be right there. As soon as they leave he turns to me.

"Why the hell did you do that! You could've been killed!!!" He yells, eyes staying golden.

"Yeah maybe but I wasn't going to stay put and let him die!" I yell back, he sighs bringing me to him and kisses my forehead as I wrap my arms around his waist.

"Just be careful, I can't lose you," he says staying pressed against my forehead I nod. He grabs onto my face and I look at his eyes are back to hazel.

"I love you" I feel my eyes turn violet then I turn them back to my brown eyes.

"I love you too" I peck him on his lips.

"Now let's go deal with this" he nods and we walk over to the house.

Most of the warriors and the group of intruders are outside while the 'leader' is inside waiting for William and me.

"So what is it that you wanted to talk about?" William asks.

"My men and I were hoping to find refuge home for a couple of days we have been traveling for days and when we came across your pack we saw an opportunity" something about this guys doesn't feel right.

"Okay, how do you expect me to even consider letting you guys stay when your attacked and my own William straight up in his chair and raises his eyebrows.

"I sincerely apologize for that I had forgotten to tell my men to not harm anyone but it won't happen again"

"I don't trust him" I mind-link William

"I don't either but we have no choice" he mind-links back.

"What's your name?" William asks.

"Lee Vaugham" Lee simply says.

"Okay, Lee you and your men can set up camp on one of the fields and the most I can give you is a week" Lee smiles.

"That's very generous, thank you" William nods and he walks out leaving us alone. I stand up walking over to William he puts me on his lap.

"Why didn't you turn him down?" William shrugs.

"I already told our warriors to keep 24-hour surveillance on them and besides it's only a week and they'll be out of this pack and probably never see them again" I nod even though I don't like this decision one bit.

"Oh don't worry I know what I'm doing" he touches my chin and brings it closer to his face and then bring my lips closer to his. I position myself to be able to kiss better. I remember something and I break the kiss.

"We have to go check on the guy from the field that was sent to the infirmary" I gasp.

"Amber how could you..." he frowns, I do as well confused as to what's going on. "Why are you thinking about other men while you're kissing me" he breaks into a smile and I chuckle.

"Oh come on" I get down from his lap and walk us over to the infirmary.

As always they bow their heads greeting us which is something I wish they wouldn't do since we are normal people as well.

We ask the nurse if we could see the guy the warrior brought in before they take us, I ask his for name and I learn it to be Frederick Phillips.

The nurse led us to Fredericks room, I knock and a woman opens the door she gasps when she sees us but her eyes stay on me.

"Hi sorry to intrude I just wanted to know how he is doing..." she rushed to me and hugs me thanking me for saving him.

"The warriors told me what happened, they also told me about what you did, he wouldn't be here without you," she says after she separates from me.

"Oh it was nothing, how is he?" I ask, she opens the door further letting us go in and I see Fredericks bandages but awake, he straightens up.

"Alpha, Luna! Thank you very much" he smiles as his wife goes over to him.

"There's no need to thank me, I'm glad to see your okay so we will leave you to get better" I smile at them and we leave.

The door closes and I release a breath I didn't know I was holding. Being the reason why someone is alive is overwhelming but regardless I'm glad I did it, William wraps his arms around me from behind resting his head on my shoulder.

"You're a hero, my love" I turn around to face him.

"Hardly" I rest my head on his chest and he wraps his arms around me once again.

"You put someone else's life before your's to save them, that's a hero in my book" I groan.

"I thought you didn't like what I did" I look up and smirk at him.

"Just because I didn't like that you put yourself in danger doesn't mean I'm not proud of what you did because I am" he grabs onto my chin bringing me closer to him until one of the warriors call's out to him.

"What now?" he lets go but he keeps his hand behind my back.

"Your sister is asking for the Luna" I look at the warriors raising my eyebrow and he smiles.

"Sorry, she's looking for Amber" I smile and he leaves, William turns to me and frowns.

"Can't I have you for more than a few minutes!" he whines, and once again rests his head on my shoulder.

"Oh chin up you big baby, I'll see you later at night, now I'm going to go hang out with your sister" I peck him on his lips before walking over to Melissa's house.
