4 | I feel more lonely now than i've ever been

Being back in his pack we walk through his apartment door he puts my suitcase in my room as I sit on the couch when he comes back I thank him.

"I know you don't want to talk about it but how could you have lived like that for... how old are you?" he asks scratching the back of his neck.

"I'm 22"

"How could you have lived like that for 22 years?" he asks sitting on the couch next to me. I can't really give him a response since I don't have one for myself so I just shrug, but I'm surprised at the slight anger behind his voice.

"I can't really answer that" I look up at him.

"Why?"

"I don't have an answer" I look down, I can tell even if he has a rough relationship with his dad I know it hasn't always been like that and him and his family are very close.

"I'm going into my room to get ready for the ceremony" I stand up from the couch and walk over to my room leaving him behind. I got over to my suitcase and start unpacking, I know I wasn't really going to get ready because the 'ceremony' is hours away.

I get hungry halfway through unpacking, I check my phone to see it's only 11:24 a.m. but I haven't eaten breakfast so I go out of the room to find something to eat. I sigh in relief when I can't catch his scent telling me I'm alone. I go over to the kitchen opening the fridge to find anything to wat but I don't find a lot of things so I'll have to make do with what I have. I've got to get more groceries since I'm going to be living here for the rest of my life.

After eating I walk back to my room to finish unpacking while watching Netflix. Hours pass doing absolutely nothing, I hear the front door opening letting me know Williams home and I start to wonder where he's been all day but I quickly shut those thoughts off. I just want to get this ceremony over with, it's almost time for the ceremony so I walk out after I'm dressed to see William sitting on the breakfast bar with some paperwork.

"Are you ready Alpha" I joke making him turn around with a smirk.

"So you finally acknowledged that I'm your Alpha" he smirks and I try not too laugh but fail.

"Oh god no, you'll never be my Alpha I was just joking bedsides you'll hear other people call you that after today and I'm not going to be one of them" I laugh which only makes him mad.

"You will not disrespect me like this" he growls standing up.

"And what makes you think I won't do that?" he comes closer, I'm not going to lie I'm a little scared and I want to walk away but I don't want to show him fear so I do my best to stay still before he can reply my question I cut him off.

"Can we please just go so we can get this ceremony over with" I look straight into his eyes trying not to show the fear I feel. Still mad he nods and we walk down the apartment into the pack house living area to see a bunch of people and they stop what they're doing to look at us but the stares are directed at me.

They haven't seen me since yesterday on the verge f death so this is kind of an awkward situation. Suddenly a couple walks towards Willliam and me, when they're right in front of us they both smile and the guy extends his hands for me to shake.

"Hello Luna my name is Ray and this is my mate, Makayla" Ray introduces himself and Makayla shaking both their hands as well as giving them a smile.

"Nice to meet you both and please call me Amber" I smile once again and I turn to William and I think he can sense my confusion.

"Ray is the beta of the pack" I nod in understandably before turning my gaze back at them at them only for their expressions to turn to guilt then look down.
