I make my way out of the bathroom dressed in just my underwear after a nice shower. It was nice and peaceful as compared to normal days, having woken up earlier than usual.
I carefully slide open the drawer, fishing out a shirt and a pair of pants. I was only able to throw on my shirt before a pair of strong arms wrap around me from behind, twirling me around in a circle, making me shriek.
"Good morning." Steve greets, peppering kisses down my neck.
He spins me around to face him before leaning in for a kiss. I run my hand through his hair, pulling him closer to me as I returned the favour.
It's already been two years since we'd left. We've been moving from country to country, before settling in this small but comfortable home for almost a month now, but it probably won't be long before we'd have to move again.
Regardless of being on the run again, this has been a significantly more pleasant experience as compared to my first.
I couldn't help but smile at the thought of how we'd managed to still find happiness in such terrible circumstances.
My lips stretch into a wide grin, causing our lips to part.
"What are you smiling about?" Steve asks, failing to hide a smile of his own.
I shake my head, "Nothing." I say, combing my fingers through his now, fully grown beard that was supposed to be just temporary. "Don't you think it's time for a shave?"
"You don't like it?" He asks, looking slightly disappointed.
I hum thoughtfully at his question, "I'm still undecided."
"Alright, I'll think about it." He says, giving me a quick kiss on the tip of my nose. "Also, you didn't wake me. You said you would."
"You looked like you could use the sleep." I shrug, leaning in for another kiss.
He tightens his embrace around me, pulling me closer against him as his kisses grow deeper.
The peaceful moment is cut short as a beeping starts to sound from Steve's cell. I let out a groan in annoyance, making Steve chuckle.
I furrow my brows at the unfamiliar ringtone, "Is that..." I trail off.
"Tony." He confirms my suspicion, not even needing to hear the end of my question.
The smile on his face is replaced with a frown, the lines between his brows, now prominent and set in worry.
He rushes over to the phone and quickly accepts the call.
"This is Steve." He answers.
He listens for a reply before his eyes dart up to meet mine in surprise.
"Bruce?" His brows drew closer together, "Bruce, where is Tony?"
I don't get to hear Bruce's reply, only Steve's end of the conversation, but it was enough to make my heart lurch.
"Missing? What do you mean he's missing?" Steve asks, the worry evident in his tone.
"Alright, we'll get Vision." He says, "In the meantime, just hang tight until we get there."
