TONY
"A little risky coming all the way out here, don't you think?" I ask as I let my car door slam shut behind me.
"Anything to see a friend." Camille shrugs with a wide smile on her face.
I couldn't help but smile back at her, "It's good to see you, Cam."
She pulls me into a tight embrace as soon as I was close enough, which I gladly returned. Anybody could use a friend in times like these.
"You too, Tony." She mutters.
I take off my sunglasses as we parted from our hug, slipping it into my pocket.
"Does Steve know you're here?" I ask.
"He does." She simply replies.
"Things are going well between the both of you I assume?" I ask next.
The corners of her lips quirk up into a sheepish smile that tells me everything I needed to know, even though she doesn't reply me.
I nod, letting out a laugh, "That's good. I've been waiting for this day to come, Tinky Winky. I really have." I say, tucking my hands into my pockets.
"Is it just me, or are you getting more sentimental?" She teases with a cheeky grin.
"Uh, let me finish." I stop her with a finger before continuing, "It's about time the two of you really got together instead of just constantly staring into each other's eyes like a couple of idiots."
My comment draws laughter from her, "And he's back."
I smile to myself, despite everything that has happened, I was happy for them.
I leaned against the railing in front of me, looking out at the view, where the Manhattan Bridge stood in a distance.
"How's fugitive life?" I joked, "Settling into wherever it is you guys are?"
"Settling's not really an option nowadays." She shrugs, "But we've been in Paris for the past couple of weeks, probably going to have move soon. Maybe to Spain."
I raise my brows at her, "Are you sure you want to be telling me that?"
"I'd like to think there's enough trust between us, Tony." She says, that bright smile of hers never fading, "I heard you've been taking a kid under your wing. How's that going for you?"
"That kid has a thing for unknowingly getting himself into trouble, I tell you." I say, but couldn't help but smile, "But he's a good kid."
"You know, surprisingly, I think you'll actually make a really great dad." She chuckles.
"Well, that's too bad. I don't think Pepper's planning of having any children." I say with a laugh.
"That is too bad." She agrees.
"What about you and Cap?" I ask, "Any plans to settle down?"
She scrunches her nose, corking her head to the side in thought. "We haven't really talked about it. But we're happy." She shrugs.
