I pace around the room, admiring the huge variety of tech they had stored in their lab. For a place that is so cut-off from the world, their tech were astonishing.

"Whoa, the structure is polymorphic." The King's Sister, Shuri, spoke as she completed her scan on Vision.

"Right, we had to attach each neutron non-sequentially." Bruce explains.

"Why didn't you just reprogram the synapses to work collectively?" The girl asks.

On the table, Vision looks up at Bruce the same questioning look in his eyes.

"Because, we didn't think of it?" Bruce says, as if he was stating the obvious.

Shuri shoots him a reassuring smile, "I'm sure you did your best."

"Can you do it?" Wanda asks as she worries at her lips.

"Yes, but there are more than two trillion neurons in here. One misalignment could cause a cascade of circuit failures." She explains before turning to address her Brother, "It will take time, Brother."

"How long?" Steve asks, his shoulders set in worry and the wrinkles between his brows now visible again.

"As long as you can give me." Shuri answers.

Steve glances at me, his eyes filled with worry. I sigh before gazing out of the window of the lab, the peacefulness and security that I've associated with this place is soon replaced by a feeling that I couldn't quite put a finger on. But whatever it was, it made my stomach churn.

I furrow my brows as I notice something hovering over the dome. Before I could say anything, the general of the Dora Milaje speaks.

"Something's entered the atmosphere." She announces.

"Hey Cap, we've got a situation here." Sam comms in soon after.

I turn back to the window and watch in worry as a vessel comes crashing into forcefield, leaving a huge explosion in its wake and several more vessels follow behind it.

"We've got more incoming outside the dome." Rhodey reports.

The rest of the team joins me by the windows. Steve exchanges a glance with the King, sharing the same worried look I have.

He then shifts his attention to me, reaching over to give my hand a reassuring squeeze, which normally is enough to comfort me, but this time, it does nothing to help with my anxiety.

Vision groans as he slides off the examination table, clutching at his wound.

"It's too late. We have to destroy the stone now." Vision says.

"Vision, get your ass back on that table." Nat orders before stomping off after the rest of the troops who were getting ready for battle.

"We'll hold them off." The King says as he joins them.

"Wanda, as soon as the Stone's out of his head, you blow it to hell." Steve orders.

Wanda nods firmly, "I will."

I head out of the room and into the empty hallway outside, to clear my mind. A sudden fear and realisation that some of us might not make it back hits me like a truck.
