During the night, Jason was woken up by a sound in the woods.
"Who's there?"
No one replied.
Jason tried to wake Lydia up. She did not wake up. He tried shaking her awake, but he noticed a dart protruding in Lydia's arm.
"Oh no. "
Jason knew that they were in trouble. But before he could reach his sword, he felt a dart hit him in the neck. It made his head feel woozy and he fell to the ground. But before his vision blacked out, Jason saw Angel fall to the ground. His horse ran away as well. Then everything went black.
When Jason's eyes opened again, his vision was still blurred. But he could tell that the sun was already high in the sky. As the light was almost blinding. After a few seconds, A group of figures came into view. Jason realized that he and Lydia were tied to a tree. He felt thick ropes around his arms. He tried pulling free, but the ropes just rubbed against his skin. As the figures became clearer, Jason saw about ten robbers. They all wore shabby clothing and were searching in Lydia's bag for something valuable. There were four men wearing old clothing. One of them was half elf. Jason could tell by the pointy ears. One of the men had a long scar across his face, and had an eye patch covering his eye. Jason also saw a three foot tall gnome with a brown beard. He was wearing a ripped short sleeve shirt. The gnome had a dragon tattoo on his right arm. There was a cyclops standing next to them and three women. They all looked pretty menacing. Jason recognized some of them from wanted signs in Alton. The robbers had put Angel in a cage not too far from Jason and Lydia. The griffin was already awake and trying to poke through the bars of the crate. After a few seconds, Lydia awoke as well gasping. One of the men turned and started approached them. Commander Keenan talk about him a couple of times. Only had bad things to say about him. He had scarred arms, had curly sand colored hair, but looked very well built. His name was Grant Walker. He wore old clothing under a set of armor. He also had an ax at hand.
"So, did you have a nice sleep? "
He asked in a low but subtle voice.
Jason still felt dizzy from the dart.
"Where do you people come from?"
Grant asked.
"We can't say, we're kind of lost."
Jason answered. Lydia nudged him in the rib.
"Don't tell them who we are. "
She whispered.
"Really, well It looks like I'm not the only one on wanted signs anymore. "
The robber said.
"What are you talking about?"
He showed Jason a flyer with his picture on it.
Jason Bowel, wanted for kidnapping commander Keenan's daughter.
He started reading.
Jason looked at him in disbelief.
"I didn't even kidnap her. She came after me."
Jason protested.
"Well it says here that if either one of you is found, there will be a reward."
"Wait if you turn us in, aren't the guards going to take you in as well?"
Grant turned away from them.
"It's been a long time since I seen Keenan. Maybe It can give us time to catch up."
He grasps his ax tighter.
Lydia and Jason weren't sure they heard that right.
"Wait? You know Frank Keenan?"
