"We should probably start heading towards Alton."

Grant suggested.

"You know so we can meet your friend sooner."

He added.

Jason nodded.

"Jason, what if this plan of ours doesn't work. And you and Grant get sent to prison?"

Lydia asked him.

"It has to work."

Jason assured her.

Hours passed, it was starting to get dark out. They came to a clearing from the woods. And when they could see the sky, what they saw was brilliant. A thousand fairies lit the night sky, glowing just like stars. It was nothing compared to when you see them during the day.

"Wow."

Jason and Grant gasped.

"Beautiful, isn't it?"

Lydia asked.

"I've never seen these at night."

"Well like I said, if the night hunters stopped hunting the non violent creatures, we would get to see more of them. "

"That's another thing we could discuss with your father."

Lydia gave him a look. They kept walking.

Then Jason looked at Angel. The way that she always stayed by Lydia's side. He wondered how long Lydia had the griffin.

"Lydia?"

She looked at him.

"How long have you had Angel?"

"My mother found her one day in the forest and she took her home. My dad thought it was a bad idea but, once he saw that she protected me, he let me keep her. And after my mother died, it was another memory of her."

"Interesting."

He replied.

Lydia looked at him.

"What about you? You never seem to talk about your family."

Jason sighed.

"My father was a night hunter. I think he was Keenan's friend. He went on a mission trying to find a group of trolls that was supposedly threatening Oscana. And he and the other night hunters were ambushed at the forgotten mountain. According to Keenan, and my uncle, most of the hunters were slaughtered."

Lydia frowned.

"I'm sorry."

"It's okay. "

"What about your mother?"

She asked.

"If I remember correctly, she passed away when I was five. After my dad left, I was raised by

Brad. "

Suddenly, there was another noise from the bushes of the forest.

"Shhh,"

Grant hushed Jason and Lydia's conversation.

"It could be people who are looking for you."

He whispered. Approaching the bushes. A twig snapped and before Jason or Lydia could react, Grant leaped on whoever was in the bushes.

"Ow! What are you doing? "

A familiar voice said.

"Ah ha, I caught a Night hunter!"

Grant exclaimed, holding Jeffrey in place.

But when Jason realized who Grant just tackled, he stopped Grant.

"Jason? What's going on?"

Jeffrey asked. Seeing his friend in the dark.

"Jeffrey, meet Grant.'

Jason helped his friend up.

"And Grant, meet Jeffrey."

Grant looked embarrassed.

"Sorry for jumping on you."

Grant apologized.

All of the sudden someone jumped on Grant's back.

"Ahh!" The person started to hit Grant.

"What the...!" Grant yelled trying to get her off his back.

Lydia recognized Abella's voice.

"Abella? Get off him."

"Lydia?"

Lydia pulled her friend off of Grant's back. Once she was off, Grant let himself fall onto the grass exhausted.

Abella turned and saw Lydia's face. She leaped towards her.

"Oh my god! What are you doing out here?" She turned and saw Jason there as well. Her smile turned into a frown. She walked towards him.

"Lydia was nice to you. If you poisoned her, I will make you wish you were never born..."

Jason backed away.

"Abella he didn't kidnap, or poison me. I left on my own." Lydia assured her.

"That's what your note said but, it could of been Jason writing it alone."

Jeffrey walked towards her. "Abella Let's just let Jason and Lydia tell us themselves what happened."

Abella looked at Grant again. "Okay, but I'm not sure I feel comfortable standing near him." She gestured to Grant. Grant put his hands in front of him in case Lydia's hyperactive friend jumped on him again.

Lydia gave her a comforting smile.

"Listen okay. Grant isn't who we all think he is..."
