Nya POV
I felt myself hide my face in my brothers chest. I felt him lay his head on top of mine. He sighed and finally let go.
"Nya. Sister. It is good to see you again. Its good to have 3 of us on this team." Kai said as he led me to the top.
"3 of you?" I asked with a confused and worried face.
"When Jay left, the team was already starting to shatter. We all thought that you had finally lost it, which you haven't. When you left though, we were looking for you everywhere. We would go days without sleep. However, Zane was the first to disappear with a note on his bed. It wasn't his handwriting. We knew that he was taken." Kai said.
"Who was the other one?" I asked with a hesitant voice.
"Lloyd went rogue after Zane was taken. Went berserk actually. One night, he went on a walk looking for Zane, and he never came back. The next day, there was a note on the dinning table." Kai told me as I sunk in the information.
"Can I see the notes?" I asked Kai.
"That is for another time, Nya. Besides I want to talk to you about someone." Kai said as we stood away from the door.
"Who?" I asked him.
"There was this girl that showed up falling from a portal a week ago. Her name is Melany. Nya, she claims to know Jay and his Mother." Kai said.
"That is impossible. Jay would tell us about her unless..." I started.
"Unless this was before Jay was sent to the Walkers. Jay wouldn't remember that. At least, I hope he doesn't." Kai said as he brought me to the computer where Cole sat talking to this Melany girl.
I watched how Cole talked to her and how she listened intently. She was clearly bored out of her mind. Melany turned and looked to me in shock. Like she wasn't expecting me to be here.
"Nya? I thought you were gone?" Melany asked as she stared at me.
"Jay was able to save me from himself long enough to escape." I told her bitterly as I remembered what her name stood for.
"Can I talk to you guys in the other room, please?" I asked Kai and Cole.
"Sure." Cole told me as he and Kai followed me into a different room.
"I don't trust Melany." I said.
"Oh. Come on Nya! She is fine." Cole said as he glared at me.
"Do you not understand what Melany means?" I asked him.
"What does it mean, Nya?" My brother asked.
"Guys, Melany means to always be covered by shadows. To be impossible to see."
