Nya POV

As the light subsided, we all looked at each other and smiled. We had actually won one of our toughest battles yet, and now I was ready for the biggest break Ninjago has ever seen.

"I cannot believe we actually won!" Kai shouted as he ran over to me and pulled me into a hug.

"I know!" I cried as I hugged him back.

Then suddenly I remembered Jay and quickly turned over to where the 2 figures laid. I started to run over there when a pair of hands grabbed onto my shoulders.

"We don't know what is wrong with him, Nya. We need to be careful about this." Cole whispered at me as he signaled for Zane to walk over to Jay.

"I don't care. I'm going to go see my Boyfriend!" I shouted as I shrugged his hands off and ran the rest of the way.

I finally reached his body and looked at his face. His hair was a mess and he looked so weak. Almost like he was on the verge of deaths door. He looked beaten down and his body shook with each breath.

At this point, the others made it over to where Zane and I were, but I didn't care. I pulled Jay's head into my lap and slowly started to play with his hair in one hand and hold his hand with another. I didn't realize the tears that fell from my face until I noticed his cheeks.

"What's wrong with him?" Lloyd asked.

"Will he be alright?" Kai asked as he tried to look over at us.

"Where is Alisa and Alice?" Cole asked as he looked to see the 2 figures were gone.

"Jay knew this was a possibility. From the looks of it, he gave quite a fight." Zane said with a sad smile.

"He isn't going to make it." Lloyd said as he looked over to Nya.

"I don't know. He is very weak. I don't know how he is able to last as long as he has right now. He is fighting to stay alive." Zane said as he smiled a little brighter.

"So will he survive?" Cole asked in fear of his Best Friend.

"I don't know for sure. There is a slim chance he will survive. However, I know Jay. I know he will fight until the very end." Zane said as he looked over to us.

"So?" Kai asked as he shook Zane's shoulders.

"I think Jay will be just fine, but very weak. We will need to go easy on him." Zane said as he smiled back at them.

I felt myself let out a sigh that I didn't know I had. I smiled knowing that Jay was going to be alright.

"What about Alice and Alisa?" Cole asked as he looked at me.

"I don't think that this will be the last time we have seen them, but I also know that we cannot go out on a hunt looking for them right now. There are other things that are much more important." Zane said as he looked over at Jay.

"Nya, I know that you don't want to leave him, but we really need to get him back to the Monastery. I need to be able to care for him there. I don't think that it is the best idea for him to be in the public right now." Zane said as he put a hand on my shoulder.

I still wouldn't let go. Not now.

"Sis, Jay will be fine. He is a fighter, and as much as I hate to admit it, he is always going to find a way back to you. However, he cannot do it here. Why don't I take you home you can wash up while Zane and Cole bring Jay back. Then, you can see him." Kai said as he grabbed my arm.

"What about Lloyd?" I asked as I glared at him.

"I think it would be best for Lloyd to keep his distance while Jay is healing after everything that happened. Master Wu is going to send him on a private mission." Cole replied as he glared at Lloyd.

I just nodded my head, not knowing what else to say to that answer. I felt Kai drag me to the Monastery. I felt like I was in a dream. Except I think that this is more like a nightmare with a bittersweet ending.

I thought back to Ed and Edna who's lives were taken away. I remembered going insane and thinking that I would actually see them. I cannot even imagine what Jay is going through right now. I couldn't watch them die, I just couldn't. It made me sick to my stomach.

"I'm going to take a shower." I mumbled as I pulled away from Kai's Hand.

"Okay." Kai said as I walked away.

"And Nya?" Kai asked as I almost went into the bathroom.

I paused and looked at him.

"Jay will be fine. Believe in him. That is the best thing you can do for him right now." Kai said with a smile.

I nodded and started the shower water. It burned my skin, but I barely felt it. It wasn't  important right now anyway. Nothing except Jay's survival was.

I quickly stopped the water when I heard footsteps running back and forth across the hall.

"What's going on?!" Kai yelled from behind the door.

"JAY'S HEART STOPPED!!!" Cole screamed as he paced back and forth.

I slowly sank to the floor, my heart breaking with it.

"What?" Kai asked shocked.

"Zane is trying to jump start his heart. I was kicked out of the room." Cole quickly explained as the two slowly stared at the door.

I came out of the bathroom and placed my head on my Brother's shoulder. He pulled me into a half hug and continued to look towards the door.

Cole was on my other side. He couldn't bring himself to look. His hands seemed far more cool than what was happening right then.

I looked at the door again and held my breath. I knew that Jay's life was hanging in the balance. I knew that Zane was going to walk through that room and give the news that would make or break us. That would make or break me.

And then, after what seemed like a million years, Zane walked through that door. A smile was plastered on his face as he sighed in relief.

"He's going to be okay. He's awake and alive." Zane announced.

We all shot up and started to run towards the door, but Zane stopped us.

"He is actually asking to see Nya alone right now." Zane announced as he watched the others deflate.

I eagerly pushed passed them and opened and closed the door. I continued to look at the door for a few minutes. Then, I slowly turned towards Jay.

He looked a little better than what he had. A little bit more strong, and you could just tell that he was going to be fine. The spark in his eyes was back.

We stared at each other for a few moments. No emotion was showing on our faces until Jay finally smiled.

I then ran over to him and threw myself onto him. My lips quickly found his as I pressed them hard together. We let go when we ran out for air.

"Don't scare me like that again!" I shouted.

"I don't plan on doing something like that ever again." Jay said in a hoarse tone.

"You almost died." I whispered as I looked to his hands.

"I always almost die." Jay tried to joke, but was stopped by coughing.

"This time was different. I realized that I was going to lose you forever." I said as I looked to his face.

"Please. You cannot get rid of me that easily. I'm a lot harder to kill. Don't worry about it Nya. In the end I was fine. I am fine because I knew that I would come back to you." Jay said.

"But..." I started.

"No buts! You listen to me Nya Smith! With our jobs, we don't know what is going to happen. Time is to short to be focusing on death. All that matters is our time together. So just stop Nya. We knew what we were getting ourselves into when we decided to become Ninja. We knew that there was a possibility of this when we started dating. We lasted this long because we care. We lasted this long because we love each other." Jay said.

I grabbed his face and kissed it again. Things were going to be okay. Things would be okay for a little while anyway.
