" Get up"

" Get up!"

" Brooke, get your ass out of bed"

I turned over. Jay's face was inches from mine.

" Oh my god, Jay you piece of shit" I half yelled. He jumped back, putting up his hands in surrender. He was shirtless.

" Sorry, sorry. Just sayin we're gonna go to Venice Beach today.. also its just after noon" He said casually. I sat up straight and pulled the covers off, successfully sending Jay tumbling off my bed.

" Why didn't you get me up sooner egg?" I asked him, as I offered my hand to help him up.

" Jeez I tried. Also you really need to keep your anger under control seriously" He exclaimed rubbing the back of his neck. I felt bad for hurting him. I walked over and hugged him.

" Sorry" I mumbled into his chest. I pulled back.

" Also please put a top on Jay" I said in mock disgust.

" Why?" He asked.

" Cos your half naked in my room" I sighed.

" So?"

" Just do it" I sighed shooing him out of my room. I got up and got dressed in a blue T-shirt, grey hoodie , blue jeans and my black converse. and under neath I put on a bikini. I went into the living room. Everyone seemed to be waiting for me, except Charlie who was immersed in the world of COD. I grabbed an apple.

" Are we going then?" I asked.

" you can talk" Rikki teased. But she headed to the door and we all followed her. Once outside we caught a taxi to Venice Beach.

When we arrived it was packed with people. The palms that lined the beach were waving in the breeze and the sun was shining. I hopped out of the taxi and thanked the driver then I grabbed Jay's hand and dragged him down to the beach. The sand was snow white and reflected the sun. The beach was full of people swimming or sun-bathing. I decided to go swimming first. So I took off my clothes. I had put my bikini on earlier so I just ran into the water. It was warm and clear. I dived under and opened my eyes. I could see the rocks and seaweed underwater. I spent almost an hour jumping waves with Jay and Charlie, Rikki had decided to stick to sun-bathing.

Suddenly I saw a huge wave coming towards me. I lay on my back and waited for it to crash so it could carry me inshore. It crashed over my head and pushed me under. It passed by and I swam up for air. I was almost at the top when something grabbed my leg.

I screamed and thrashed around. The thing wrapped itself around my waist. I turned around to face it. Jay grinned at me. I kicked out of his grip and reached the surface.

" Your an idiot" I said when Jay resurfaced.

" Your welcome for saving your ass" He said, pretending to be offended.

" Thanks but I was fine" I smiled.

" I know" He grinned.

" Then why-" I started but then I realized.... " Your so weird Jay" I laughed

" Says you" He smirked. He grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the water. I went and grabbed my towel. I dried off and went to sunbathe with Rikki. She was dozing on the side of the beach. I sat down next to her and closed my eyes.

" Brooke" Jay said gently shaking me. I opened my eyes and sat up. I was still on Venice Beach but the people were disappearing and the sun was sinking in the sky. He offered me his hand.

" I need to show you something" He smiled. I got up and put my clothes back on over my now dry bikini. I walked beside Jay along the beach until we reached the far side where he lead me back inland and up a hill. The hill was covered with trees and you could hear the birds singing their hearts out in the dusk. He lead me up all the way to the top. When we went over the crest of the hill I caught my breath. L.A was spread beneath me in all it's glory under the setting sun. I felt the tears prick my eyes and I let them fall.

" Brooke, what's wrong?" Jay asked scooping me into a hug.

" It's so beautiful... I never thought I'd actually get to see it" I whispered.

" Just like you" He whispered so quietly I'm sure I wasn't meant to hear.

" Thanks" I said.

" oh, you heard" He said " Brooke, I can't just be friends anymore, not even just bestfriends. I've always loved you, but I guess I thought it would pass. You mean so much more to me " He said, putting his hands on my shoulders.

" I've always loved you too" I smiled at him.

I looked into his eyes, they were dancing. I looked at his lips and gasped.

His mouth was pulled up into a crooked smile. I felt my heart stop and I forgot where I was and who I was. I had never seen anything so beautiful.

He leaned forward, I leaned closer. Then on top of our hill, looking over L.A under the setting sun, Jay's lips touched mine.

Explosions went off in my stomach, it was like it was 5th of November. I felt my heart accelerate to an impossible speed and my brain stopped working. Jay placed his hand on my neck and pulled my closer.. Our lips moved in sync.

The sun sank behind the Hollywood hills as Jay and I stood frozen in our very own Paradise.

EEEEEEK!!!! OMG guys it finally happened ..... they kissed!!!! Also yes Jay is the boy with the crooked smile. I love this chapter so much. I've been waiting so long to write this!
