"Where is everyone Friday?" I ask running into the compound leaving my suit in the living room
"Conference room" She replies
"Thanks!" I say running up the stairs because it is faster than waiting for the elevator
I get to the Conference room to see the secretary as expected.
"Hey guys I made it" I sigh catching my breath as I walk in
" Y/n! The iron girl. She's grown up so much Tony" the secretary gives me a far too friendly smile which I think is so weird because I've never seen this man
"Uh.. Hey!" I say after an awkward second
"Come sit kid" Dad says to me
I scan the room, everyone's faces don't look very happy. Rhodey, Nat, Steve, Sam, Vision, Pietro, and Wanda are gathered at the table. I take a seat in the back of the room with dad who also doesn't look very enthused.
"Five years ago, I had a heart attack. I dropped right in the middle of my backswing. Turned out it was the best round of my life, because after 13 hours of surgery and a triple bypass... I found something 40 years in the Army had taught me: Perspective. The world owes the Avengers an unpayable debt. You have fought for us, protected us, risked your lives... but while a great many people see you as heroes, there are some... who would prefer the word "vigilantes"." The secretary says, his voice dropping at the end.
"And what word would you use Mr. Secretary?" Nat asks
"How about "dangerous"? What would you call a group of US-based, enhanced individuals who routinely ignore sovereign borders and inflict their will wherever they choose and who, frankly, seem unconcerned about what they leave behind?"
[Ross activates a screnbehind him. News footage from past Avengers and SHIELD matters flash on the screen as he speaks.]
"New York"
[A Chitauri leviathan. Terrified citizens. A soldier firing a gun. The Hulk smashes into a building and sends a dust cloud to engulf the camera.] [Rhodey looks regretful. He glances back at y/n and Tony]
"Washington D.C."
[the three insight hellicarriers fire on each other. A helicarrier crashing into the Potomac and throwing up a massive wave engulfing citizens]
[Sam looks down in shame]
"Sokovia"
[terrified citizens run through the dusty streets. The city rising. Buildings falling.]
[wanda grabs Pietros hand. Dad shakes his head watching the screen]
"Lagos" the secretary spits his words
[the explosion. The burning building. Screams. The paramedics taking out a dead girls body.]
[Wanda is the most affected by this and we all notice]
"That's enough" Steve booms. The secretary nods and turns off the screen
"For the past 5 years you have operated with unlimited power and no supervision. That's an arrangement the governments of the world can no longer tolerate. But we have a solution" the secretary places a thick document on the table and passes it to Wanda. Wanda takes a quick look before passing it to Rhodey.
The documents get passed to the end of the table so I get up to look at them.
"The-?
"The sokovia accords." The secretary smirks
"And just what the hell is tha-
"Y/n!. Sit" dad huffs sternly
"You're with this then?" I ask sitting back down
"The sokovia accords. Approved by 117 countries. It states that the Avengers are no longer a private organization. You will operate under the United Nations." The Secretary says
