"Dad I can't do this anymore" I sigh falling onto the chair on the porch next to dad
"Don't get down on yourself y/n" Steve says encouraging me as he sits next to dad
"No offense pops if I wanted your pep talks I would go to your little meetings" I snark at him
"You should attend some. You'd like the people" Steve nods
"what exactly can't you deal with anymore y/n?" Dad asks ignoring Steve and I conversations
"This loneliness. I mean yeah every now and then we have visitors but I got used to having 2 very annoying great brothers" I sigh missing them
"And you're suggesting what? We have another kid?" Dad laughs as he reads a book
"A kid! A pet! I don't care!" I flail my arms around
"I have an idea" Steve smiles leaning in the doorway
15 minutes later
"I can't believe this" dad says in an annoyed tone
"I can't believe this!!" I exclaim happily
"Well believe it you two" Steve smiles getting out of the car
"A dog shelter" dad says as if he isn't excited
"Not just dogs honey. Any pet you'd ever want!" Steve chuckles grabbing dads hand
"Dogs! Cats! Fish!" I smile
"Fish! Now fish is something I can get behind" dad smirks
We walk into the pet palace and see a million different kinds of animals
"Since the snap I've kept all the animals found without owners. That's why we're so packed." The lady smiles while feeding the pets
"Well we are here to adopt" Steve smiles happily
I walk around like a kid in a candy shop playing with every animal.
I hear a familiar laugh, I turn to see Steve on the ground playing with a golden Labrador.
"Steve he's adorable!" I laugh watching them play
"Go get y/n!" Steve laughs as the Labrador bounds over to me
"Ahh!" I laugh falling over with the dog
"He's perfect" Steve smiles
"What's his name?" I ask
"The paper says Daniel. He's two years old" Steve chuckles as Daniel bounces back over to him
"Where's dad?" I ask looking around
"Haven't seen him since we got here" Steve shrugs
"Huh weird" I nod
I walk off to find dad at the check out station
"Yep and I'll take two-
"Dad?" I ask
He turns and I see he is holding a black cat with white accents, it looks as if it's wearing a suit
