p.o.v Cole:

When I and the rest of the gang entered the school I saw a huge crowd forming. I walked over towards it and the guys followed me.
Some fake bitch and her friends were pinning Simon against the lockers just glaring at each other. Then Hannah grabbed Simon's hand and they walked off.

I followed Simon and then stopped him.
"Hey. Are you okay?"
He turned around with a small smile still plastered on his lips. How can he still be smiling after what just happened!?
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"Really!? I mean she just told the whole school that you are gay."
"Well, I mean, they had to find out sooner or later anyway."
"Okay...but you didn't seem that comfortable when I found out."
"Yeah, I was just a little bit shocked that I shouted it out like that."
"Well, okay."
After that, he just turned around and walked off to class. I just stood there amazed by how he took this so easily and still had a smile on his lips.

"Hey, Cole. What was that about?"
I turned around and saw Jack standing there.
"What are you talking about?"
"Oh come on, you know what I'm talking about."
"Fine. I ran after him because yesterday he accidentally told me that he was gay. He didn't seem comfortable with me knowing and don't know how I would feel in his situation."
"Makes sense but I think there's more to the story then you're telling me."
I glared at him and he held up his hands in surrender.
"So...do you want to go to this underground fighting club tonight."
I smiled and nodded. He fist bumped the air and I let out a low chuckle.

Simon and I went to my car after our music class. I'm still amazed by how he handled the situation with those fake bitches I could never handle it like that. We drove in my car and this time Simon didn't want to drive. The ride to the Starbucks was really quiet and it wasn't the good kind of quietness it was the awkward one. I was pretty nervous after the scene yesterday in the garden of Hannah's house. I was glad when Simon broke the silence and said, "Thank you for today, I mean that you asked if I was okay it meant much to me."

"No problem, no one deserves to get outed this way."

"I know. Luckily no one was making jokes about me, I wouldn't know if I could have handled them."

"I understand. I would feel the same way."

"You're talking about experiences?"

"Why do you think so?"

"Because no one could just relate to this situation."

"Let's just say I know how it feels."

"So tell me a bit about yourself I have the feeling you know so much about me and I know nothing about you."

"There's not much to tell you about me. I live with my dad and my little sister here but before I used to live in New York."

"Is your mother in New York?"

"No... she died many years ago."

And with that, the silence came back. The Starbucks was just 10 minutes away from school but the ride to it felt like it would last ages. Simon wanted to say something multiple times but I felt like something was keeping him from saying something.

p.o.v Simon:

I didn't know what to say to Cole after he told me that his mother had died. I didn't know what to say I could have said something. I know how it feels when you have a parent who died. Both of mine died. I tried to say something many times but I just couldn't say anything because I would have ended up crying. I can relate to his situation too good.

In Starbucks, he ordered us a coffee and paid for it. I sat in a small niche by the window. We didn't talk until he came back with our coffees.

"Thanks for the coffee.", I said.

"No problem. Can I ask you something?"

"Sure. What is it?"

"Can you keep it a secret? You know what I told you in the car."

"But that's such good gossip!"

I could see Coles' eyes widen but before he could respond to me I said rapidly: "I'm just joking. Sure I will keep this as a secret."

"Thank you."
