Y/n point of view

I waited in our meeting spot. I was a little early.

What was I thinking? Why did I ask Peter here?

This was a mistake.

I'm risking too much to get advice. I'm going to blow my cover.

Why am I doing this?

I guess I just want someone to work out my problem with.

Someone like... Peter.

But why Him?

I can't figure it out. Why am I jeopardizing everything just to get his advice...

I turned to leave but I heard a noise behind me.

"Hey! Glad to see you're better! I was so worried about you..."

I let out a relieved sigh. It was only Peter.

My relief was short lived as I realized it was too late to leave.

"My mom is Joanna Jarder" I said after turning to face Peter.

I was taken aback. Did I really just say that?

After I had my mini freak out I realized how close Peter was to me.

oh

"What?! Your mo-"

"-Yes she is. But that's not important. She told me that my dad made the decision to abandon my sister and I-"

"But mr. Stark would never do that"

"You're right! He didnt know... My mom lied to me. "

"What a twisted lie. I'm so sorry." Peter hugged me

I closed my eyes and pressed my forehead into his chest.

I inhaled his aroma. It was so calming.

"Peter, how do you know when someone is keeping things from you. Or lying to you?"

"What?" He pulled out of our hug.

"I cant explain everything but, I think my mom might be lying to me about some really important things."

"Well you just kind of know. Theres not really an algorithm or anything. You just have a feeling. ...Something tells me you already know that."

"Thank you Peter."

I turned to leave. After a few steps I turned back.

"Hey...uh... did you see that article...?" I asked.

"About us? Yeah I did" Peter half smiled awkwardly.

"Do you know who... I mean we were alone. No one was there. How could they have-" I started to ask.

"I don't know. But we have to be more careful."

"Yeah. So you probably shouldn't take your mask off anymore." I laughed a little

"Heh. I guess you're right... But about what it said..." He stammered. It was really cute.

"Yeah... I... we're just friends... right?" Great... Now I was stammering.

"Right. I mean what do they know. Those pictures were taken out of context."

"They dont mean anything other than we're friends. Right?"

"Right."

We stared into each other's eyes. It was like we had a whole conversation without any words.

I smiled. He smiled.

In that moment, I realized why I so desperately wanted to talk to him and get his advice.

"...We aren't just friends..."

Peter slowly shook his head.

I nodded and looked down at the ground.

"I-I have to go. Thank you for just... just letting me talk it out. I'll see you later."

Before Peter said another word, I kissed his cheek and left, smiling like an idiot.
