Y/N's point of view

The next day I was sore as hell. My wound hurt so much but I knew I had to go to school.

As distracting as the pain was, Peter was more distracting.

I cannot believe I kissed his cheek. That was so bold of me.

Maybe too bold... I hope he's okay. I really want to talk to him about it but Stark told me I'm not allowed to go out as The Florist until all my pain is gone.

Friday night, I had dinner plans with my dad. He thought it was best to have dinner together at the Avenger's Tower so word did not spread that Tony Stark was seen with a mystery teen.

It was weird calling him my dad. Growing up I was taught to hate him but... now I'm not so sure I should. In the past week, I've found out so many of the things my mom told me were all lies.

When I arrived at the tower, Happy told me my dad was waiting for me upstairs.

I took the elevator to the top floor.

"Poppy!" Stark said, "There you are!"

He was standing in front of the stove in the kitchen that connected to a lounge.

"Come here!" He waved me to him.

I walked over to the stove and saw (A dinner that you really like) cooking.

"This is the dish that I made your mother on our first date. She really liked it, so I thought I would make it for you, too" He smiled.

"Wait. You two dated?" I asked, "I thought you two were just lab partners."

"We briefly dated before we worked on that project. We just didn't fit like that but we stayed friends. And then a little while later we worked on that project."

"Really? huh..."

"Yeah. Actually your mother was the first woman to every break up with me."

That is definitely not what my mother said. I was always told that she loved him but he didn't feel the same and he broke her heart.

I think this is my chance to find out the truth about my mother.

"Anyway, it's ready. I hope you're hungry because I made way too much." He laughed a little to himself.

As we were eating we got to know each other. I learned so much about his family, his childhood, everything. And he learned everything about me and my childhood.

"... and that wasn't the first nor the last time I found myself hacking into the pentagon" He said.

We both laughed. Once our laughter died down, his face fell.

"Poppy... my dad was never there for me. He never told me he loved me. Never came to any of my things. He was all around... cold and distant. I-I want to break the cycle. I feel awful that for the first 15 years of your life, I was exactly life my father-" he said before I cut him off.

"-But you didn't know about me. So it's okay. I don't blame you, dad."

"Well... in any case. I don't want to be my dad. I want to be there for you. If you need anything, anything at all, at any time of the day... I'm there. If you have any school events or anything... I'm there. I promise."

I nodded my head. "I understand."

"Dad? I haven't been honest with you..."

He raised an eyebrow.

"All my life, I've been told that you didn't care about me and my sister. That you wanted nothing to do with us and I believed that. I'm sorry that I've always been a jerk to you but I think now I need to just lay everything out on the table. No more secrets."

I went to grab my mask.

Stark grabbed my hand. He looked at me with tears in his eyes.

"It's okay" he said.

In that moment, I knew that my dad really loved me. He barely knew me, but he deeply loved me. He loved me so much that he forgave me for everything I had previously thought an done.

And all he had to say was those two words.

"You don't have to take your mask off" he shook his head slowly.

"But I want to."

I took off my mask and revealed my face.

He smiled.

"I see you've inherited my good looks."

"heh. yeah..."

Stark looked confused.

"Wait... you're Peter's friend... The one from the ice rink. Does he-"

"No! And please don't tell him"

"You're secret is safe with me, Poppy"

"Y/n"

"what?"

"That's my name," I told him.

"That's a pretty name."

We spent the rest of the night just talking. It was one of the best nights of my life. We decided to have dinner weekly so we can try and make up for lost time.

"So every Friday night, we'll have dinner?" I asked.

"Yes. Wait hold on. There's an Avenger's Meeting next Friday. I don't think I can move that with this short of notice. Clint is supposed to come into town on Friday and he rarely comes to these meetings. So... Not next Friday but every Friday afterwards should be fine."

"Perfect."

Stark dropped me off at home.

"Remember! You always have a room at the Tower," he called out as I walked into my apartment building.

I walked inside my apartment and saw my mom reading a book on the couch.

"So how'd it go?" she asked.

"Great!"

"When are you seeing each other again?"

"Well, there's an Avengers meeting next Friday but we're having dinner every Friday after that."

"That's perfect!" My mom moved from the couch and followed me to my room.

"What?"

"I think it's time we finish the mission." She was grinning from ear to ear.

I was not.

oh no.

"...sounds good..." I shakily said.

My mom wanted me to kill the Avengers.

But I don't think that's what I want anymore.

Hey Author Here!

Someone brought it to my attention that it seems like this book is ending. I know it might seem like the story is coming to an end but I promise it is far from over. Don't worry. This book is supposed to have a romance between Peter and your character and that hasn't even really happened yet. So don't worry.

Much more is supposed to happen I promise (and fast. We're almost at the romance guys). :)

Also, I wanted to know your opinion.

How do y'all feel about how long it took for Peter and y/n to realize their feelings?

I know it took much longer than most other books but I wanted to get your opinion. Do you like the long build up or is it too much?

I'm wondering because there is another romance book I am considering writing and I want to write that story that y'all want.

It wouldn't have anything to do with Marvel but it would be another x reader story that involves superpowers.
