*Five Years Ago*
"Do you understand what you have to do?" he asked me in a cold tone as I looked down at my feet. "Are you listening to me?" he asked loudly, grabbing my chin, forcing me look up at him.
"Yes," I answered quickly.
He laughed and walked towards the door of the dark room.
I looked to my right at my family in the cage. "You'll set them free, right?" I asked quickly before he was able to leave. I wouldn't pass up my chance to ask... not when I know it'd be too long before I'd see him again.
He turned around and looked at the cage. "Yeah," he said blankly before walking out and shutting the door.
I looked to the side where my reflection stared back at me. Long dark blue hair seemed to be the only part of me that still held its light. The old, messed up clothes that gave me the only ounce of warmth I could muster in this place, felt almost comfortable after so long. The mirror did more than reflect my appearance, it showed exactly the treatment I had been enduring for so long. The reminder felt like too much to bear.
I tore my eyes away.*Present*
"Where's my family?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper as I spoke to the man before me.
"They're fine, but don't get ahead of yourself. You're getting sold away to some rich guy. You do as they say and you do it good, then we'll talk about your family," he said in the same cold voice from five years ago.
"Very well, when do I leave?" I asked, my voice just barely above a whisper and my eyes focused to the ground.
He threw his gun on his desk and sat up, asserting what he claimed to be dominance. "Right now," he said with a smirk in his voice. The doors behind me opened and two men walked in. "Follow them, don't do anything sketchy or they'll have you dead in point-two seconds," he spoke firmly.
I nodded and followed the two men without another word.
They escorted me out into a limo and the drive was silent, the same as any drive from before. They drove me to a castle-like mansion. The limo door opened and I stepped out, taking in the view of what felt like the biggest place I would ever be staying at. It almost felt too quiet from the second the two men walked me past the gates. Soon passing through the front doors, I met a man with white hair and golden eyes. He told me his name and what I would need to do. It was a bit different from what I was used to, but I complied.
"Very well, take her to the guest room to clean up and get her ready in 2 hours. We have places to be," the man said, his voice deep and full of authority, different from the usual commanding and boastful voice I was used to.
I was taken into a room and I did as the man had said; I showered and walked out dressed in the clothes they chose for me, different from what I normally wore, and in two hours they had me ready. They escorted me to the limo and I was sent on my way.♪︎♫︎
After a two hour drive, the limo stopped in front of a large mansion. I was escorted out and was told to walk past the gate and towards the main door. I didn't say a word as I stepped past the extravagant gate, the large mansion different from that of the one I had just seen. I walked up to the door and knocked twice before the screech of it opening revealed a girl with platinum blonde hair and sherbet pink eyes. She looked surprised and froze on the spot, leaving us in a silence for a few moments.
I decided to break the silence and spoke. "Hello," I greeted in a hushed voice and feeling a small security build while in her presence... almost comforting.
She seemed to snap out of her trance and looked at me, her eyes going wide with panic. "You have to go!" she said, her voice rushed and in a loud whisper as though to not let anyone hear.
I put my hand up calmly to signal her to stop her rant. "I'm here to stay," I informed her.
"Yui, who is at the door?" a voice spoke out from behind her.
I looked up at the top of the staircase. A man with dark hair and glasses who was well dressed was staring down at both me and the girl I assumed was named Yui.
"It's a girl, I don't know her name," Yui said, suddenly calm but her hand fiddling saying otherwise as she held them close to her chest.
"Well do not be rude and let her in," he demanded sternly and in a deep voice.
She moved aside and I nodded to her slightly before allowing myself to step in, my eyes looking around briefly. I felt an odd feeling of intrigue at the Victorian architecture in the interior of the mansion, so I let my eyes wander slightly before following the nicely dressed man in glasses.
