I Hate This - Chapter 16

I opened my eyes slowly and looked around. I started to sit up when I felt a sharp pain in my neck.
 
"Hey, Tigress," I heard the jolly voice of Kou say. I held my neck and looked at Kou. "Yuma really did a number on ya, didn't he?"
  
I didn't answer and looked down at the floor.

I wanted to leave...

I shook my head at my own thoughts. Where the hell would I even go?
 
"Sapphire!" I heard Yui yell and I felt her arms wrap around my neck, and I winced at the pain it shot through me. She moved away and looked down my neck and gasped. "Are you okay!?" she asked.
  
"Does it even matter? Of course I'm not, it hurts like a b*tch," I said, standing up. I walked to the mirror and saw the purple marks of Yuma's fangs. I frowned angrily.
  
I wasn't going to allow him to claim me as his, that was for sure. I looked at the clock and sighed.
 
"Do we have school today, Kou?" I asked and looked at him.

He nodded. "But you two won't be going with us," he said.
   
"Why?" I questioned.
    
"Because the Sakamaki's are gonna be there. Now let's go down and eat!" he said cheerfully.

We arrived at the dining room and Kou went to a seat and quickly grabbed food from the plate in the middle with the fried shrimp.
  
They looked so close compared to the Sakamaki. I looked at Yui and she seemed so innocent compared to how I knew her.
 
"You sit by Azusa, I'll sit by Kou," I quickly told her and walked to the seat beside Kou. "Is it okay if I sit here?" I asked him.

He stopped arguing with Yuma and looked at me.
    
"Of course, Tigress!" he said cheerfully and pulled the chair out and I took a seat. I realized then how much more noise I'm hearing and I patted my neck quickly and I started to feel instant panic overfill me.
 
"What's wrong.. Sapphire?" Azusa asked and I looked up at him with a worried expression.
    
"My earphones," I said frantically. "I can't find them."
  
"Oh, those things?"

I darted my eyes to Yuma with a glare. I hoped that what I was thinking wasn't the case, because this *sshole better have not done anything to my earphones. "Where are they?" I asked as more of a demand with gritted teeth.
  
"I threw them out. There was no use for them." He shrugged.

I looked at the plate in front of me and pursed my lips. A large amount of sadness and anger filled my chest.
   
"Hey, Sapphire. Aren't you going to eat?" Yui asked but I stayed quiet.

I shook my head lightly and stood up.
 
"Tigress?" Kou asked. I pushed in the chair and walked to the door when Ruki appeared in front of me.

"You need to eat, Livestock," Ruki told me.

"I'm not hungry," I said firmly and tried to go around him when he grabbed my wrist. I looked down at his hand and looked up at Ruki. "I'm not hungry, let go," I said sternly.

"Hey! You have no righ—" I cut Yuma off.

"I have every damn right!" I yelled at him. "I have the right to treat you all like sh*t because that's how you've treated me. And let's not forget that you kidnapped me," I glared at Yuma. "You on the other hand, had no right to throw away my earphones."

"I'll do what I want!" He yelled.

I scowled at him and released my hand from Ruki's grip and walked to Yuma. "And you call the Sakamaki spoiled. I'd choose them over you any day," I growled. He glared at me. "You're an arrogant fool," I gritted out and turned around, walking out of the room.
  
I entered the room Kou showed me yesterday and it was white. A little bright but I didn't mind too much, and I wouldn't complain. I closed the door and sat down on the bed.
  
I let myself try to recall why Yuma was acting the way he was. I knew he was Edgar, but why did he—oh yeah... the fire...
  
I fumbled with my hands and looked at my right hand. I smiled a little and remember his hand in mine, when we were little and on the limo. My heart skipped a beat at the thought.
  
Great.. now I was smiling like an idiot fool now. I needed to stop thinking about him, I didn't even really know him anymore... but did that matter? I liked him before I remembered about my past.
  
I sighed and laid back on the bed while still looking at my hand.
  
Oh God...
  
I covered my face sighed. A grand amount of embarrassment overfilling me.
  
"We're headed off to school, Tigress!" I looked at Kou by the door looking cheerful.
