"What are you doing here?" I was hanging out in the garden admiring the white roses but turned to look at Subaru.
"I was just looking at the roses," I informed him as I turned to look at the bed of roses. My mind shifted to as of whether Shu liked roses, which I'm sure he didn't, and I mentally scolded myself for bringing him up in my thoughts
I looked at Subaru with a small smile.
"This is Yui all over again. Tch," he said, turning to walk away.
I felt a bit offended but ignored it and stood up. I walked to him and he looked at me with the same angry eyes he seemed to look at everything with. "You're always so angry," I told him. I couldn't help but laugh a little.
"Why are you laughing?" he asked angrily.
I chuckled at his angry state. Not to mock him, but because he just looked so adorable, like a small child. "You're so adorable," I told him with a big smile.
Subaru only got angrier and scowled at me.
I backed away from him and he started to come towards me, and I couldn't help but think of it as a game as the Great Chase began.
I giggled and turned around before starting to run away. I looked behind me and saw Subaru running after me. I turned back to look ahead of me and Subaru appeared in front of me, making me accidentally run into him.
He didn't budge and before I could fall back, he caught me.
I held on to his shoulders, standing up properly and looking at him. "That was fun..." I trailed off quietly. I looked up at him and I saw a small smile on his lips. "I'm gonna assume you had fun too considering the smile you got on your face," I said teasingly.
"Tch. Whatever," he said, getting rid of the smile and turning away from me with a blush.
"Hey, Subaru. Do you only have white roses?" I asked him, catching his attention.
"We have red ones, but that's it," he answered more calmly, and I nodded and looked back at the manor. "Why are you even here if we can't have your blood and Shu doesn't like you?"
I felt a sudden weight of sadness at his last sentence. I turned to him and pursed my lips in to a thin line. I shrugged and and looked down. "I don't know..." I responded quietly. I looked back up at him, furrowing my brows in slight concentration. "Maybe I'm here to die, I don't know," I said, shaking my head a bit frustrated at the current situation, I hated it to say the least. "I'm gonna go," I said, looking at him but halted in my tracks. "Did you grow those roses?" I asked him, gesturing to the white roses.
"Yeah? What about them?" he inquired a bit irritated.
"They're beautiful," I said in awe of them. I turned to look at him. "They remind me of your hair, although I think your hair might be softer than any of those petals," I said with a small smile. I turned and started walking back to the manor.♪︎♫︎
"Sapphire."
I lifted my head from the book I was reading and looked at the doorway of my room. I sat up and placed my book to the side. "Hey, Kanato."
He walked towards the bed and stood next to me. "I wanted to show you something," he said as he held out his hand.
I hesitated but placed my hand in his. Kanato's hand wasn't anything like Shu's, his was cold and sent an unnerving chill up my spine.
He lead me somewhere where I knew I couldn't find my way back. He continued leading me in and I looked around, trying to understand where I was.
Dolls. I stared at them all with their porcelain skin, and they were all wearing wedding gowns.
"Kanato, where are we?" I asked him, slightly startled.
"This is my collection." I furrowed my brows in confusion at his words. "They were all once our brides," he said.
I froze on the spot with wide eyes.
These were all brides of the brothers...? I questioned, the fear rushing through me.
"U—um.. Kanato." We stopped, and he turned to look at me.
"Since you are of no use to us, I'll make you into the most beautiful bride in here. With the best gown and hair." He looked at me with a crazy look in his eyes and a wide smile.
My heart began pounding in my chest as I backed away from him and he only came closer. I started panicking and I shook my head. "No, I don't want to be one of your dolls," I stated, backing away faster. I turned to run away when he grabbed my wrist, pulling me backwards and making me hit the ground.
He wrapped his hand around my neck as I struggled to leave his grip. He slammed my head down on the floor, making me scream at the hard impact and pain.
My vision blurred as black dots filled my vision and I felt myself lose consciousness.
